Kinda Sad. :[

When I establish Friendly Relations with a Station, when I return I get a "Welcome Back"!.
When I become Ally I get "An Ally like you is always welcome"!
BUT!! When I fly in to MY CARRIER, that I Bought, with MY Credits, the Crew that I"M PAYING treat me like a total Stranger!!
It'd be nice to see a "Welcome Home Commander"! Is that asking too much?

Lots of us want that.

On the other hand how many of us in real life show real happiness when our boss shows up at work rather than just try to present ourselves as efficient valuable employees.

Note I am talking about the person that effectively owns the company not the one that is there all the time running things.

Probably won't see any of this since carriers are 5b each and substantial (to newcomers) upkeep. I agree there's a lot of potential there. The NPC pilot is AWOL other than during fighting, never run into them in the bar. If I did I probably wouldn't fire them so easily.

Peeps in stations also greet you... the ones in my carrier are either sleeping or totally ignoring me!

I've bleated about this for ages. Seems to be falling on deaf ears though so I've given up. I suppose it's down to budget as they'd need to pay someone to voice act a whole new bunch of er... voiceovers,=.

Mind you, if they wanted a male voice, they (FDev) could contact me with some scripts to read and I'd do it for free :D

EDIT- and don't get me started on getting tritium from the hold to the depot.

I have no confidence in my Carrier crew. When I boot up the game in my Carrier all I hear is "Multiple hull breaches" and "please go to designated departure points"...or something along those lines!
Obviously when I'm not in my Carrier the crew are $%*!"$ useless!

Monazite 'hot spot' mining at the moment, so what do I get for the highlighted cores? (4 so far in this session).....yep, Painite & Platinum! 😖.....:D

Jack :)

Didn't they use real voice actors? If so, they'd have to call them back in to record any new lines.
They may have done, but that doesn't mean they have to do that forever.
Would be kind of fun, for us and the team, to have members of the team doing that once a month. They don't have to be perfect voice acting, and y'know sometimes you'll turn up at a station/carrier and get the night shift so the occasional call from a controller who is clearly half asleep or hung over seems entirely likely to me...

If FDev recorded 20 of these in a fun session and they got 10 usable ones, those are still 10 usable ones!

I still think the super-crackly one sounds like Ash / Ian Holm on purpose though.

Jolly Yorkshire lady drives me mad. STOP BEING SO JOLLY.

I might had that some of the reads from Sean Bean on Civ 6 are TERRIBLE. You can definitely tell which ones were end of shift. But there are thousands of the things so fair enough!

Try using EDCoPilot: https://www.razzafrag.com
Not only does it do exactly what you're asking for, the speech is editable as it's based on Windows' text-to-speech engine, which s currently very good.

This is the kind of thing that’s perfect for community involvement. FDev could give us the format people would make them and the community would vote. The files are probably so small that you wouldn’t even need to send them to the client until they enter a system with a station that uses a particular voice.

It’s free content for FDev and the absolute worst thing that could happen would be that FDev wouldn’t accept what the community produces. But more likely they get some high quality stuff.

Voice files, missions (I’ve often said they should share their documentation on missions and let the community write them), paint jobs, NPC chatter - there are lots of possibilities

Ah, but the alternative should the FC crew be more 'interactive'...

Flight Controller: "Sorry, CMDR, we can't schedule a jump for at least 6 hours as the off-shift are on a shopping trip to Hutton Orbital"
Maintenence crew: "If you don't bring us 2,000 units of Palladium, we can't fix that dodgy bay, so we can't go anywhere until then"

Etc. Ad nauseum...

I thought they'd do the whole Silent Hunter 5 crew management thing, but all we really got were crew pics.
Would have been interesting to build a crew for the carrier and progress their skill sets.
Who knows maybe they'll release that as a management game at some point.

We're missing a whole minigame here!

Negotiating for wages. NPC interaction with the ability to yell at or compliment our crew. General crew satisfaction levels affecting greetings, speed of operations, wages. Crew going on strike or leaving. 😛
I look forward to installing the new HR Dept in my Carrier. No doubt they’ll provide an Interim Agile Staffing report suggesting a staff Wellness room would be a more worthwhile and productive resource than a bar.

Look forward to that🕘:p🕔
