Kismet's Guide on Exploring - ED

Hi all,

Made this detailed video for my members to better understand exploring and threw in a bunch of tips as well. Thought i'd post it here also for the community.

Was a ton of work, but really fun. Even had my live stream cheering me on when I was going way way out there into deep space. hehe.

Enjoy!

I'll admit to watching if only to see how differently people might explore compared to myself xD Good information though, I could have used something like this when I started off.

I've always been into astronomy and all but I never expected how much time I would spend looking up wiki's for different stellar objects. Definitely going to take a bit of an exploration break when I get back from this long trip though... I used to laugh at the idea of space madness but after about 1000 systems even mining seems like it might be a fun pasttime ;)

p.s. - careful exploring the fringes of space (even with a nice jump range)! Some of these stars are just a little too far out and will have you doubling back trying to figure out where the hell to go.

so many tips packed in such a short time, I think my head is going to explode. Thanks for this, I think I'll give it a rewatch with some coffee in the morning

Cool video, but why do you pronounce Stellar, as STELL-U-LAR? Should just be, Stell-ar.

Hiya Space Pirate,

Just noticed your reply.

You ever work on a video so long you get tongue tied? There ya go. I tried that line about 20+ times. It actually was really funny after awhile. So after about 10 hours of working on that video and spending about 2 weeks on/off working collecting the info and learning about Exploring. I said to myself ah well, no ones perfect and added the line about "I'm gonna butcher some names....". Its actually an inside joke on our team, I butcher terms & names all the time.

So I did warn you in the video... hahaha. In life sometimes you just gotta roll on to get stuff done. I'm ok with it not being perfect and being able to laugh at silly stuff like this. It will always be a funny memory for me now.

Sounds like good material for future blooper reel.

Glad You enjoyed the video!

I'm not sure if I missed it in the video but, switching the galaxy map to "realistic" helped me explore a great deal for some reason. Great job on the video!
