So, after playing for a bit, both with the ship and the SRV, I've started to get into some thought about mechanics and ideas. Here's a few things I'm starting to find a thorn in my side:
(most of these are honestly just the SRV)
The Scarab is the only type we can get. While it's a fun little buddy, I was hoping for more types, specially one for planet mining. Equipped with a mining laser (that can also destroy the organic structure thingies), a 4~6t bay (cause 2t is tedious, and any higher is a bit op), no hand break (Why is it even there?) but replace it with a vacuum scoop (to pull stuff from annoyingly tough to reach places), and an ability to auto-dump cargo into the ship when stopped under it. Also it'll eat fuel faster cause it's using more energy to haul/blast.
Speaking of parking under the ship, the "Dismiss Ship" option needs an "Are you sure?" prompt, as I've sent the ship away a few times by mistake by trying to get to "Transfer Cargo" too fast. Also the area that shows where to park needs to be clearer. When you get close, it fades away, making you have to guess where it's ok to go into the menu. Oh yeah, and please let us use the thrusters when near a ship. I understand why they are deactivated but getting stuck under a ship is kinda hard to recover from, unless you send the ship away..
Lastly with the SRV, why is there a Cargo Scoop option when there's no external animation for it, can scoop things above and below you, and you can only scoop som'in that you target first anyways? Might as well just leave the option perm on, as it doesn't catch on the terrain and you're safe from scooping the wrong item since you're not targeting it. Oh also, maybe an option to make Hand Break not a togglable setting? There's been plenty of times I've turned it on when backing out of the bottom panel.
Oh and speaking of hitting terrain: Why are shields so useless for impacting the ground? I've pretty much turned mine off to save fuel as I still take impact damage anyways.
Only thing I can think of for the ship is the last suggestion I made: Making the Commerce Market have an option to sort by what's in your cargo. It's a chore to scroll to the bottom of the list if you have Non-lethal weapons. Else I'm really not finding anything wrong, ship wise.
While I'm sure you guys are planning more SRV's, I hope it's soon, and I hope you'll think of these suggestions for new ones (not just my own mind you).
