Homemade V8.
I keep buying bags of salad. Leave them in the fridge and forget them. I turn them into salad left over soup, or as in this case V8.
Two bags of salad. Unsure of the size. Saute anything you want before sticking them in. Put them in a pot with water to the top. Cook on high simmer with some level of boil. Put in any fruits or other things in the start. I did oranges which was too strong of a marmalade at first. But I found a trick. It can be deluded to at least 4x the amount reducing the problem(This was with 4 mandarin oranges total.). Add sugars spices herbs etc. Cook for 2-3 hours. I check every 30 minutes and it's usually at the final stages at 2 hours and finished near 2 1/2 hours. Drain the liquid if desired and discard or blend the pulp down.
Extra trick. Add tea bags with or in place of herbs and spices. I've noticed the ingredients are much better than you would normally get in stuff in those containers. This is easy to do at the very end. I ended up with marmalade salad with lemon juice and some apple tea with cinnamon(And other spices and some sugar.). I did some orange tea and wish I did more apple as it would have made a nice cinnamon spice, but it's not bad. The more concentrated the more you can water it down for your time and get more to drink. I didn't have any tomato sadly, but a lot can go in it.
To finish this I added extra sugar and some tang which balanced out the sour good. Once the flavor is acceptable in concentrated form it will remain that way watered down. So, either make into lots of drink or freeze and keep track of how much you can water it down and put into the appropriate container with just hot water.
The reason it cooks so long is because I normally have strong romaine lettuce and this cooked it for soup so it doesn't get stuck in your throat. And the better romaine will be like a nice noodle texture when done. Cheaper stuff will vanish faster, but for V8 it's fine as you toss or blend it for fiber.
Herbal tea with fruit and other spices are the best from what I can tell. The lack of normal tea means they put a lot more fruit and other flavors so you get more out of it as it's not emphasizing the tea leaf flavor.
You would have to look up if kiwi fruit is safe to eat, but you could do this with them if it's not harmful.
