Newcomer / Intro Known pirate systems?

Are there any known pirate systems or can you search for them via the galaxy map by chance? I'm trying to find some target NPC's to collect some bounties or just get the handle on combat in general. It would be nice to know some systems that have a larger amount of enemy NPC's making it easier to get into some combat.

I'm having the hardest time finding anyone wanted, or someone I can shoot. Playing open world, followed many threads about nav beacons and extraction sites. Still can't find anyone, everyone just appears Clean to my scan. I also can't really tell who is a player or an NPC, so perhaps I've passed a few people, but not quite sure.

Liking the game so far, but bored out of my mind trying to find something to shoot at. I've never been pulled out of interdiction in the two days I've been playing either. I've never actually had to try this hard to find an enemy in other games, lol.

You can usually find unsanctioned outposts... There's one system only a jump away from Chukchu, and another at LHS 1504(?)

If you want a fight, buy a mining laser and stop off at your nearest Asteroids or Ring system. Start mining and they soon turn up. Or, as has been suggested, buy a tonne of Gold and go to the Nav Point or any USS. They'll scan you, ask you to drop it, then turn on you.

In practice I think it's practically anywhere, although Low Security systems should by definition turn up more. Do turn of your "Report crimes against me" off, or you'll have the cops jumping in to take a piece of the action.

You can always filter the galaxy map to display "Anarchy" or "None" systems only. Anarchy means that there's a local population there, but there is no governing body. None means there is no governing body nor station (that you've found).

The filters in the galaxy map really give you a good impression of the "terrain". You just need to spend some time studying it and learning it's nuances.

I'll also point out that if you're goal is to hunt down bounties, you can do so easily at Nav Points. Scan the ships coming into the nav point and if they're wanted you can shoot them down and cash in the bounty voucher at the local station (invest in a Kill Warrant scanner down the road to obtain even more bounty credits).

Edit: I just noticed you mentioned looking at Nav points already. 9 out of 10 ships will appear clean (but if you have a KW scanner, you'll find most of them do actually have bounties in other systems). If you remain close to the nav beacon and scan the ships while they're coming in you can cover much more ground (instead of chasing them down far away). They're there, it just takes some looking (I made over $200k last night just hanging out at a Nav Beacon).

Thanks, I appreciate this. Regarding the Nav point, were you in a high security system or have you found that lower security is better?

Low security/Anarchy means that the local security guys won't barge in and start attacking either:
1) You, for causing too much aggro - Although, I'm not wholly sure if this is a bug, but it happens a lot at Nav Beacons.
2) Your bounties!

I've never turned off the Report Crimes Against Me feature..

I generally just kill things anywhere, anytime, as long as a decent price is on their head. For instance, I wouldn't chase and hunt down a Sidey with a 400Cr bounty. I'd probably spend more in ammo than I'd recoup in remuneration.
