Kudos to the Audio engineers once again. :)

Eventually took the plunge after 4 years of messing around in my many various Asps and iClippers, and bought a 'Conda to play with, if it's not my imagination I've noticed the ship voice actually realises I'm in a much bigger cabin from the echo and difference in sound when docking etc.
If this is the case and they actually have coded this in as a environment feature, I take my hats off to them, it may be a tiny feature but it's impressive and it's sometimes the little things that count. :)

Mr Braben they deserve a massive bonus this year. :D

Yes, that effect is real. :)

I thought I was going mad initially. :D
I'd noticed the little touches like the balance changing using head look but to actually bother doing environmental/spatial audio depending on the cockpit, that is real attention to detail and realism, at this rate i'll be getting VR (If I can hide the cost from the missus...). :D

It's only a tiny thing I know, but for all the whinging that goes on in this forum, it's little details like this that show how committed FD is to making a proper universe for us to enjoy, I imagine a 'Major' like EA would have put the audio effects like this on a @Nice to have list or never even bothered.

Thank you FD

You have not truly experienced Elite Dangerous until you have played it on a cutting edge gaming PC, running through a home theater with 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound cranked and your cockpit displayed on a 55" - 100" Flat Panel! :) (Or a capable VR rig)

The differences in ambience from ship cockpit to ship cockpit is one of my favorite hidden treats of the game. :) The audio team definitely worked hard to reward players who run the game's audio through high end audio gear.

it is indeed. I noticed it about a year ago and confirmed it by recording my own voice making a few "messages" over an ambient hum and then messing with the reverb fx on the vox. Exactly the same reverb tweaks that you'd make to simulate a "bigger hall" produce a similar result as happens to the ship audio in a larger cockpit. It was (yet) another "Sheesh.. these audio designers...." moment.

Through the surround rig is great, but through my mixer and studio monitors is better, even without the surround effect :)
