Kumo Crew, Possible Powerplay Faction

Galnet has news about the Kumo Crew, a horde of militant nomads. The description resembles the horde of the ancient Mongol Empire, and they're possibly another Powerplay faction.

New reports from the frontier suggest that a horde of militant nomads is currently sweeping their way through the Pegasi Sector. The group, who call themselves the Kumo Crew, are led by the vicious Warlord Archon Delaine.

A talented tactician, and a brutal fighter, Archon famously assumed leadership of the Kumo Crew at the tender age of 15 after violently beating the previous leader to death during a clan moot.

Hm. You know, that's a good guess. I thought it was a player-submitted article about some private guild, but the power-theory makes a lot more sense, considering how the article went on to outline an enigmatic leader figure and set out basic behaviour goals...

Might this be the pirate-aligned power?

Are there any inhabited systems in the pegasi sector? The closest I can spot is Mirach, and I don't have the data to see if there are any stations (not to mention that it may actually be Arietis).

I'm tempted to slog over there and try to spot some of these pirate hordes, but I can't actually see anywhere useful to go... Anybody else had a try? Suggestions? Or is this a thing that exists in Galnet only...

Well, the article did suggest that they weren't taking systems directly - just robbing them. Maybe they can be spotted flying ships around (RES zones?). What systems have you been looking in?

Even if they weren't taking systems directly, they would still be listed as a minor faction, maybe with like 0 or 1% influence. But they could be setting these guys up as a Pirate power of some sort.

They are the exception!
the old worlds are DOOOOMED!
