Well, my annoyance with KWS use has been solved.
Without rehashing too much but giving solution to those like minded, my core objection was not whether KWS was:
Core objection was the strain on just having to hold whichever mouse button assigned for kws for the 10 seconds + the dogfight time losing track which usually equated (for me) to 20+ seconds of holding down right mouse button.
So solved issue by simply remembering my Diablo 3 days and using same solution as then - programmable mouse with left/right click set as toggle so it stays held down, or use of software that does the say (e.g. autokey)
Still wish for either bullet #2 or 3 to eventually come via game updates, but if anyone is like me and just not using kws because of the extra strain of use, I'd recommend a prog mouse or autokey software

- financially worth it (it is)
- having to use actively vs passive scan if module mounted (prefer yes, but not even in top-10 for changes priority)
- lacking ergonomics / design with inability to assign 3rd fire group or key binding / toggle
