KWS Dilema on Cobra

Hi all,

Basically I'm using my Cobra for trade runs. But since I also enjoy and want to train combat a tad I am planning in interdicting wanted NPC on the way for bounty hunting (playing solo till I get more comfy with the combat mechanics).

The issue is that the Cobra only has 2 utility mounts, where at the moment I have chaff and point defence.

My question is wether is worthy it to swap the PD for a KWS. Does the extra credits warrant the lower defence against missiles? if so any tips on avoiding missiles without PD?

Thanks!

I have a KWS and a chaff launcher. PD is unnecessary if you only fight NPCs - they rarely use missiles, and even when they do, they usually either do no damage because of the shields, or miss your ship altogether.

Well the missiles you see most of the time used by NPC are dumbfire missiles, and they can't be intercepted by PD anyway. So that PD is useless unless you go against CMDR, even then it's rarely used, dumbfires gives way more bang for the buck

Are you sure PD doesn't shoot at dumbfires? Then again, NPCs can't hit you with those anyway, and CMDRs usually fire a whole barrage, which is too much for PD :D

BTW, to the topic starter: your ship suffers damage during interdiction, so it's not worth it to interdict NPCs, unless they're very fat (Anaconda/Python/Type-9).
