Lack of basking intensifies - who is waiting for beluga?

So. Here's the thing. Beluga is coming. We can't bask in it though. But I want one.

So who else, here, is hoping that it'll be pretty wizard and that it won't be the usual Saud Kruger 'salire horribilis' approach (ie awful jump range).

So:

  • Yes, I think it shall be very wizard and have long legs and be very good!
  • No, I don't think it's very going to be wizard and it will be very short legged (low jump range!) and confusing because Saud Kruger what are you doing?
  • I don't care this isn't the ship for me what is with the wizard thing it's a bit weird?

I really, really hope Saud Kruger pulled in some boffins from Lakon or DeLacey. I am a bit terrified of what the grand magus Sandro Sammarco may have let SK get away with. I'm watching you Mr Wizard. Don't let me down! :D

Right in the feels. I mean I know they tossed away the amazing early artists sketches, but apparently there is a lot of Mighty Conda love, whatever it is federals do, or much basking going on. I mean, I am absolutely for the basking. But isn't it okay to have a ride on the side?

Unrelated: frontier what the heck is going on with the eleventy wings?! It's like a cutter and an FGS had a triste. Feel free to add 'wing mods' to this beast so we can have a little bit of respite from the mad max wings!

I really really want to take the circular saw out and remove the oversize wings at the back. Then it'd be less like a FGS and more like the crazy bad space palace with engines we have seen previously.

I grinded at Sothis with my Python to get an Anaconda so I could double my capacity and grind faster to get a Beluga. That's how much I want this ship ;)


P.S: Don't expect this to be cheap. We already know it's going to have a mediocre jump range with a 7A FSD, so it'll be really heavy. We also know it'll have speed comparable to a Hauler, which puts her close to Cutter levels ... meaning class 8 thrusters. I expect her to be close to Cutter price to equip, although with a lower Power Distributor ... probably a class 6.

What I'm personally really curious about is what her cargo capacity will be. The Orca's cargo capacity is abysmal for it's size and price range. Perhaps the Beluga will be a similar boat with a cargo capacity around that of the Python, or maybe a little more. Wiki says 368T based on numbers given during Gamescom, but I don't know if those internals includes the specialized slots only usable for cargo, armor and passenger cabins. Either way, expect her to be a highly specialized ship.

I voted for the first option, on the assumption that "wizard" meant "good" and not "ought to be burned at the stake". At least, that seemed to be what it meant, from the context.

I'm looking forwards to the Beluga, and hoping it has a reasonable jump range. I haven't really been following the Tourism Destinations thread, so I don't know if many locations beyond 1000 LY are being considered. If they're not, then I don't think it really matters how "long-legged" it is, since its primary purpose will not be exploration-style multi-multi-multi-jumping.

I don't normally rep people just because they posted something funny, but I repped that. Because now I'm pretty sure that, when I do eventually buy a Beluga, the Thunderbirds theme music is going to be going through my head every time I go in or out of a hangar.

Can we petition FD to fast-track the Tactical Green paintjob for it?

Why don't you use your imagination OP?.....imagine the orca is a beluga and the cargo missions are passengers.....
You will get same game play doing this just like the new features coming soon...

It's all the same dam mechanics

With different txt and pics.......(you all know I ain't wrong)....some of you are accepting this school boy programming as a decent space game...
