So i'm in Buricasses (I think that's how you spell it? The other half of the Durius conflict) and currently docked at the walotsky gateway. I've entered the conflict zone a few times, and made some decent credits that way, about equivalent to the rate at which I could earn bounty hunter credits, but this way feels more rewarding because there's constant combat.
My biggest quip about bounty hunting is there are no bounty hunting missions. It's "hunt 6 pirates" not "hunt 6 bounties", which results in me having to find JUST THE RIGHT FACTION OF ENEMIES who will scan my cargo and say "What treasures do you hold" or some such nonsense. If I interdict someone who's wanted, they don't count as a pirate. If I attack someone who's wanted in a nav beacon, they don't count as a pirate. This makes the bounty hunting missions slow, and boring, just like the actual bounty hunting. Having to find targets, slowly fly towards them, hope the wonky supercruise system allows you to catch up to them, and then do the interdiction minigame, or go to a nav beacon and kill wanted targets while hoping you don't aggro system security because of the broken faction system, it's rather frustrating in comparison to the ease of the Conflict zones.
Back to the topic at hand, i'm enjoying the conflict zones. They're challenging, dangerous, frantic, they have unique music and the battles feel like real space battles. But I remember a few days back someone mentioned this:
I'm at Walotsky Gateway, and i've gone to the combat zone multiple times across the past couple hours, and returned each time to cash in those vouchers, but i've yet to find a mission telling me to attack targets in a conflict zone. Do these actually exist? Are they bugged for certain conflict zones? What's going on?

If you are good at combat and can stay for a while combat zones can earn you some money, not much, but money. Its better to stop at the local station(or a nearby system if a station isn't present) that gives you a mission to shoot down x numbers of ships at a combat zone. The mission will give you more credits.
