Engineers Lack of surface missions?

Just wanted to ask if anyone else isn't seeing many (any?) surface missions? I get loads of space missions but practically no surface. Before 2.1 I used to enjoy doing the attack of surface base missions or surface recovery but I have not had one since the upgrade

I can see maybe 1 or 2 surface missions for 30-40 space mission on the board

I think there's a pattern for this, like Anarchy factions seems to offer more smuggle(obviously) missions and planetary shenanigans. Factions that expands offer usually some more it seems.

It depends on System state and Political Leadership now it seems. Also going to a Groundport usually offers some Planetairy Missions aswell.

Systems in Civil Unrest / War Seem to have thoose - especially Assault / Spy Missions more common now.

I was seeing the opposite so much so that I don't even bother loading horizons now I just stick to vanilla 1.6

I think the BGS gives missions that are helpful or needed to the faction.
I've seen both situations.
I can't say what to look for tho, I didn't really pay much attention.
I guess a good place to start is somewhere that has a few military bases and an anarchy.

I'm currently getting my firmwares / hacking data (settlements srv attacks) in an anarchy system. Tons of SRV missions.

Are you sure you are correctly identifying surface missions issued at stations? A good chunk of the Salvage missions I get issued to me in the Altair system (Home base) involve surface crash sites where you need to use the SRV to retrieve cargo canisters and other items from planets.

These use a graphic icon that pictures a small cargo canister next to a crescent moon/planet. If you read the description, it says in RED that an SRV is required to complete. I get as many of these mission types as any other.

I would say that if you are not seeing these, try another system. It might help to have a higher than Neutral rep too. I am allied with all the stations I get missions from. Has a huge effect on the reward $$ the missions pay. Many of mine are over 1 million credits, and that includes many of these surface missions mentioned above.
