A ringed Earth Like World seen from it's moon!

To open the system map and see this, is a very good feeling :) It's a beautiful system, This shows half of it and I left the rest for others to tag.

A strange session tonight. I am 19000LY from Sol wandering up the Perseus arm. 30 Jumps and nothing, hardly a planet in sight and then a sad little WW stuck between two gas giants and then onwards and nothing, not a sausage. Suddenly the above happened :D Session transformed! Nothing then for ages until my last jump of the evening which netted me a system with four terraformables, one of which was a WW and TWO ammonia worlds orbiting each other.

I love Elite exploration!

When I set out to Sag A, I set one goal besides reaching it. That was to get a shot from a ELW's moon that I discovered. I achieved that 15kly out. I'd only deamed that the ELW would have a ring.

Now I'm on my way back I hope I can be as lucky as you.

Nice find, but something always bothered me....Do all moons orbit the planets in one plane with the asteroid ring? Because all rings become just thin lines when looking at them from the moons.

Not all, but most do. The bit you're looking for is orbital inclination, although you need to get close enough to surface scan a body to get that info, buy which time you can see the orbit lines anyway.

One of my goals was also to find an ELW with a moon I could land on but never did until this session. Weirdly I had, just a few dull jumps earlier, been thinking it will need an ELW with a moon to rescue this session, perhaps with rings :)

Great find and nice pics, Commander. I've found quite a few ELWs now, but no rings ... yet ...

Awesome find commander! One of my goals in Elite is to find a ringed ELW with a landable moon that is NOT in the same plane as the rings. I explore to hunt for great screenshots, and this is one shot I do not have yet.

:) I thought about heading home to be honest but decided I'd continue my quest to Beagle point taking the long route. No idea why but I have a goal of reaching 65KLY, then dropping down through the core to re-visit a system I discovered near SagA that has a waterworld orbiting a gas giant that has a little moon right up close. I didn't have an SRV last time so I hoping to go take a better photograph :)

I understand your motivation and wish you good luck with that little quest! Be sure to post the photo if you ever find one of those.
