Newcomer / Intro Lagrange clouds - where are they - am I onto something here?

This question deserves a separate thread, although I have already posted it in my exploration thread, it deserves opinions of more people, that just those who frequent the exploration section...

Im effectively puzzled: I'm in a system, where according to CODEX, there are the only Lagrange clouds in this Galactic region. There is no other system in this region, that has Lagrange clouds reported. Yet I cannot find them:
  1. not showing up in FSS
  2. not showing up in Navigation panel
  3. not showing up in contacts
  4. not showing up on planet surface
  5. all the bodies in this system were scanned and mapped by other people before, not one has any signals
  6. nowhere...
I tried to DSS one of the planets. No geo signals, no bio signals, no locations. But when I land, the ship says "There are points of interest within 50km of the ship." I tried to fly around for a while. Nothing. I went back to orbit, landed couple of hundreds km away, same message again... I go to orbit, look at the planet, nothing...

I have already searched for a hint of advice, only to find out, that you need to re-log sometimes in order for Lagrange clouds to appear. I did that multiple times, including waiting over night for them to show up - NOTHING.

The questions are:
  1. Where are the Lagrange clouds and how do I maximise my chances of spotting them
  2. why is my ship telling me, that there are points of interest within 50km of my ship, when there are no bio signs, no geo signs, no locations on this planet and nothing is in orbit
This could be either a bug or I might be onto something here... Raxxla maybe?

Im puzzled...

Lagrange clouds are, as the name implies, at one or several of the Lagrange points in that system, i.e. not on planet surfaces but in one orbit or another.

If you could tell us which system you're in, or even better post an FSS screenshot (with the system data), I/we might be able togive you a better answer. Or, if you don't want to read the same answers in both threads, maybe just link your exploration thread here (before a mod wakes from the Odyssey stupor, notices this thread and closes it down as duplicate...).

..... might be onto something here... ..

Maybe just "on something"? ;)

Have a read of this:

Thank you for your response.

My post is not a duplicate thread. I have posted similar question in my general Exploration thread called Sleepy Delegate's Chronicles HERE, but since that thread is mostly frequented by people, who are interested in my personal exploration experience, I decided to post here a separate thread, focused only on this one specific topic - i.e. how to find the Lagrange clouds. I believe this is not a duplication of threads and as you may notice, I do not tend to spam this forum with tens of threads for every single newbie question... ;)

Regarding the clouds themselves:
1. I never said they are on a planet surface. I just said, that when I land on one of the planets, ship keeps alerting me of a POI, but they never show up anywhere...
2. I said they are not showing up on FSS - trust me, they are not there, I can post a screenshot when I get back home, but take my word for it, they are not there and weren't there even after several relogs... It is not me being blind, they are just not there... Nothing on FSS below rocky bodies. I even tried to set the FSS scanner to the concentrated signals scan range and swept the system up and down, nothing...
3. I'm in this system, where according to CODEX, there are supposed to be the Lagrange clouds: Hypao Broae RO-Z d13-2

Regarding 1: maybe you were mislead by me saying, that I also scanned a planet, but look on my list, that is already after I did FSS and after I searched everywhere... I simply decided to land and go to bed, that is why I scanned the planet... I would not even be mentioning it here, if my ship was not giving me that "There is a POI within 50km from the ship".... That is why I am mentioning it here, because the Lagrange clouds are nowhere to be found and there is obviously some POI on the surface, that I cannot see anywhere...

What is going on in this system?

I swear to God, officer, I'm not drinking and flying... ;)

No, I don't think you're that drunk.

I just tried Google, and got an inetresting result:

Read it and weep.

OK, now this is really sad...

And I thought Im onto something here, combined with the surface message "There is a POI within 50km of your ship"...

Never ever seen that
Maybe I should clarify: I'm using Voice Attack with HCS Voice Packs. One of my "crew" is Ad-Astra. It is a very nifty tool, that helps you with controlling the ship and also gives you a lot of useful info... Ad-Astra specifically is alerting me of anything interesting, like Bio signals, Geo signals etc...

So when I land on a planet, that has Bio signals or Geo signals or any other Points of Interest, she would say "There is a Point of Interest within xxx"

But that is something I usually do not need, because I usually only land on planets that I know from the FSS and DSS that there are some POI's and I land in their location, usually directly next to them...

In this case, i was just landing for the night, I just randomly picked a planet, scanned it to find out whether there is anything interesting, there was nothing as expected, so I proceeded to land in a random location...

Right after touchdown, I received the message... "There is a POI within 50km of your ship." I first though I overheard her and since I was already on my way to bed, I did not pay any attention to it...

The next day, I logged back in. I was immediately greeted with the same message...

So I lifted off and flew around for a while, scanning the surface... Nothing...

I went to supercruise and landed somewhere else... Again, same message...

Then I left the planet and continued my search for Lagrange clouds and eventually left the system, going to search in surrounding systems...

Most time tools are correct, but ....Cannon's plugin to EDMC keeps me saying "landable planet with atmo" while ingame map clearly says NO ATMO.
So trust only what game says.

I guess that will be the case here... Although it is really hard to just give up... I really think there must be something in this system... It is a strange coincidence of a CODEX and Ad-Astra bug to be honest... Very strange...

Perhaps the POI alert is for a non-persist ant POI? Did you see a blue circle as you took off?

No, there was no blue circle on my radar when I was lifting off or when I was searching the area from roughly 2km altitude for 10 minutes... Yet when I landed, it again told me, that there is something within 50km... I will return to that sector and do a sweep of this planet again... I just have to find out what it is... :)
