Lakon 7 Fuel Scoop

Hello all,

I'm just about to upgrade from a type 6 to a type 7.

I gather the Type 7 needs a large landing pad so I won't be able to refuel at outposts.

I'm thinking of fitting a fuel scoop for emergencies, but I don't want to lose a lot of cargo space - I am planning to fit a fuel scoop in the smallest compartment.

Will this be enough to get me out of trouble if I end up out of fuel? I guess it will take a long time to refuel, but I'll generally only need to use the fuel scoop as an emegency measure.

cheers

Keep the cargo rack and just swap in a fuel scoop whenever your tank runs low, fill er up, then sell the scoop and get your cargo back.

It's not really a long hauler; you can get to pretty much anywhere you want to go on a single tank of fuel.

Or were you planning on exploring in it?

No but I often do long journeys to get to get to an area of interest like a CG, and I end up needing fuel in the middle of nowhere. Finding a system with at least an outpost is pretty easy, but I'm wondering if I'll run into trouble if I'm in a large ship.

Type-7 has a 32T tank, you really don't need a scoop on that thing for regular trading. If you plan to reposition the ship long range, install a temporary scoop.
