Lakon 7 omg

The Lakon 7 interior looks freaking amazing in the DK2. I thought the Type 6 and the Asp were great but this thing is unbelievable.

Make sure you stand up and look around behind you, it's HUGE!

Damn it, I'm going to have to buy one now lol. Have spent 20 mill on my ASP :/ was just getting comfortable with it.

You can stand up?

Yes, just get out of your seat and walk around. It's like that with all ships in the DK2

EDIT - Just bought it,freaking awesome, the bridge of the ship is the size of a house :) Also standing underneath it in outfitting, the ship is not pretty but it is absolutely huge, this is definitely designed for heavy freight hauling

show pictures!

Sreenshots obviously don't do the rift justice. Standing inside this massive ship is an awe inspiring experience :)

Edit - Funny looking at these pictures, the ceiling is over 30ft high when viewed in the rift, everything looks small on a 2D monitor

17million, default cargo is around 100T, I'm running mine at 180T (with shields) but can go above 200T. Am really enjoying this ship, it's a beast :)

Thanks for the screenshots - watched them in fullscreen on the rift and it really looks spacious - almost like a cathedral.

Still out of my price range, but nice ship - like the hulls look better than the other two lakons. How does it handle compared to an Asp?

I think my cargo is around 220 with shields.

Shields are an absolute MUST in this thing. It is really, really difficult to not hit the entrance/exit and the cost of repairs are HUGE in this thing. Wear and Tear alone cost me 1.5Million for a few hours of play.

The be honest I didn't like the ASP in Beta 3. I now realise that was because my ASP was stock, spent a huge amount on it in a gamma and it was an awesome trader/bounty hunter. Will definitely purchase one again for long range exploring and hunting.

The type-7 is just the Type-9's (slightly smaller) brother.. this thing is a juggernaut & handles like one, personally I prefer flying these monsters. Roll on Type- 9

Please don't tell me you repaired the paint job? Just leave it as it is until they fix the cost bug. The ship will function fine with 100% wear & tear. Agree with the shields, have to get used to the size of this thing

Thanks for posting the screenies 777Driver! Have some Yorkie Bar flavoured Rep :D

I must admit, looking around the inside of this ship was one of those "holy c**P!" moments for me.

Can't wait to see what the Type 9 is like in the Rift. Guess I'm just a trucker at heart :)

17 millions is a long ways away in my ikkle hauler!

I remember back when this was all fields and I had an Anaconda! :)

Excuse me, but how do u 'Stand Up' and 'Walk Around' in ur ship?...i have Type 7 also, im using keyboard+mouse for controls, if that makes any difference.
What are the key commands to do that?...i allways wandered just how they did get those wonderfull walk around screen shots of
the bridges of differend ships.

Thats why i liked the lakon typ 6 a lot, u know with those 'ship-scematics' screens in the back, they look stunning, type 7 should have
a similar thing, its great for that 'immersive' feel aboard those ships.
The type & really has that industrial work-horse look about it, u know, with all those vents and all.
And a free camera in the outfitting screen would be great also.

Thanks.

It's only possible in the Oculus Rift.

Is the view really better than in the ASP? I didn't like my Type6, but I love my ASP!

so only with those VR goggles?...too bad, i was kind of hoping it was implemented now somehow.
well... maybe in the near future(fingers crossed), it will surely give us a new sense of scale of our ships.

thanks for the info.

You won't ever get a true sense of scale with monitors.

I was using my type-7 without the rift and its so small and boring feeling. With it, it really feels like a space semi.
