Today saw an announcement from LAKON which has taken the ship building industry by surprise. In an unprecedented press release the ship building giants released plans to upgrade its impressive trading and exploring vessels.
”LAKON has always been proud to be at the forefront of ship development a position it recently strengthened with the release of the Type 10 Defender. Over the past months it has become increasingly apparent that humanity is facing a grave threat from the sudden reemergence of the alien race known as the thargoids and LAKON’s response was to research, develop and build the Type 10 Defender in record time but we now realise that more is going to be needed if humanity is to survive.
while others are developing weapons and technologies to combat this new threat we at LAKON, knowing our strengths, have come to the conclusion that our best response is to focus on our fleet. Having witnessed the harrowing scenes from the stations that have been attacked it quickly became obvious to ourselves that a huge increase in trading vessels would be required both for future rescue efforts and the repair of those stations already badly damaged. Whilst we have several ship designs within our R&D division those are months away from production, as a result it was decided not to build a new ship but simply to redesign one of our most sought after vessels, LAKON is proud to announce the arrival of the TYPE 7M.
Ever since it arrived on the market the inability of the T7 to utilise medium landing pads has been a subject of great debate amongst the space faring community. Now LAKON can proudly announce the debate was not in vain and having taken onboard the myriad of suggestions we have redeveloped the T7 giving it the ability to land on medium pads. As with all things in ship development there has been a cost for this revamp with a mall reduction in cargo capacity but we feel pilots will happily accept this now the ship will have access to every base or station which fields a medium landing pad. Another added bonus is the reduction in mass will give the ship class increased fdl range, coupling this with the latest in fdl technology we hope to boost the T7M by as much 20%.
Once final ship trials are finished we hope to roll out the T7M throughout human controlled space. In another unprecedented move LAKON promises that all existing owners of the T7 will not loose out, instead on presentation of their current T7 at any of our Dealerships they will be automatically upgraded to the new T7M at NO COST TO THEMSELVES.
The future is dark but rest assured we at LAKON will not falter in our efforts to bring you the best in ship design and innovation”.
