Lakon Type 7 outfitting

Hi,

I have purchased a Lakon Type 7, and am now deciding on how to outfit this ship. I have just over 10 million credits. I am also playing solo mode.

Any advice on what should i do? I am currently thinking of a minimum build as follows: http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=70X,mpW0_g0_g0_g,2-6k8S886u5K5K8I,0AA0AA08c08c0727Re0nE03w
Also, what defense should I have? Are shield boosters enough or should I invest in some point defense units for missile defense?

Thanks

Disable the cargo hatch it's only for scooping, you can then fit chaff (good for staying alive) and A class FSD and Distributor (for perma boost).

1st upgrade is PP, next is a B class SCB, then shields then thrusters. Then you're ready for a Clipper.

Edit. Missiles currently do nothing vs shields so dont worry about them.

Why you bought a Type 7 when the Clipper is so much better ? The only reason that came to my mind is the 20% discount or your not Baron in the empire.
The Clipper can hold more cargo and boost away most of the time when interdicted.
You can get clipper 10% off in Denton Paterus Controlled systems and outfit it also in federal space Hudson controlled system with 20% off.

But ok its your decition.

I bought the Lakon Type 7 a while ago, and have been earning some credits for the outfitting. I bought this many weeks, if not months ago.

Because the Clipper costs more to maintain and when you're space truckin' sometimes you want to do it in a truck, not a Ferrari.

Wouldn't bother getting lasers in any way, this boat is no good at fighting in any way, run ,run, run. Whilst your running though drop mines. I fitted 4 of them and was running from an eagle dropping mines, the eagle didn't stand a chance. In 15 seconds it was a gonner.

take some heat sinks too - as I found if you get interdicted by a vulture you have no chance of escape as he will mass lock you and your FSD will just overheat when you try and use it. You need to be able to dump heat in a type 7

No optional internals except cargo. FSD upgrade to A. No weapons. Chaff! Potentially upgrade the power distributer. That is all.

Hmm i think its only a bit over 8 mil difference without discounts and might me even less with 15-20% discounts.
If i look at booth clipper has better boost, armor and shield and can hold 16t more.
The Type 7 has a slightly better jump range and fuel tank. The fuel difference you can be solved by getting a 16t fuel tank and get one cargorack out. Then they equal on the cargo and fuel.

I would not even bother trading with em. You need a good route to have a decent profit. I would rather stick to bounty hunting or mining. Booth should yield more credits and high tech systems often have mining missions that give a whole lot extra too.

Trading starts with T9 and Anaconda for me. The Python is nice for outpost trading thought but not sure if it can surpass the T9 or Conda in credits per hour.
