Lakon type 7 owner ?

So I am now the proud owner of a type 7 but and I fear it might be a massive but for me... Can this ship be docked at the smaller refinery type outposts ?

I am sorry, but the T7 is too large/heavy for a medium pad and requires a large pad for landing.

sorry mate. you can tell a bit by the pad you launch from, or observe other ships of the type launch or land on, count the blast shields, 1 = small ship, 2 = medium (those class can land on outposts)
3 shields = large ship and those cannot.

oh and a small tip, the Python (lot more expensive tho) is a medium ship and can land on outposts with ~ 200 tons of cargo.

I have two main trade routes but both involve collecting metals from these smaller outpost types, and when I took my shiny new ship on its first flight I couldn't get docking clearance from either.
I even tried dropping to solo play but still got the dreaded "Docking Denied!!" on a loop.

Sorry, the Type 7 can't dock at the smaller platforms, its too big.

I have a Type 7 as well and i like it a lot, keeps me safe from pirates even in open play, rakes in stupid amounts of money with normal trading

The type 7 is also excellent in that it's dirt cheap to repair. 6k to go from 0% hull to 100%. compare that to my type 9--20k for just 1% damage.

Yep, best thing about it is the repair bill.

I trade without shields and was so sick of getting a 10,000 cr bill everytime I banged my Asp. Pleasant suprise to only have to pay about 900cr on the type 7 for the same damage.

Insert expletive here **** :( that's two million down the swanny then as the trade in value is 15 something.

Look on the bright side. At least you didn't buy a Type 9. I just wasted 13 million trading in my Python for a Type 9, finding out it sucks and doesn't have the jump range to do any decent trade runs and sold it for another Python. :S

Type 9s are great. I'd throw away 13 million extra credits if that was the only way to trade a python for a type 9. In terms of trading, anyway. So I'm amazed you would spend 13 million to trade -back-.

After searching around for decent trade routes that I could actually run with the measly Type 9 jump range and earning less than half of what I was making trading in the Python (despite the T9 having 200T more cargo capacity) I said screw it. It just wasn't working out. The smaller ship was superior in every way: trading, combat, exploration, being able to land everywhere. Dumping the useless space pig and getting my sleek warship back was a no brainer.
