Lambda Andromedae outpost community goal - new !!

Reading the galnet news Lambda Andromedae - Nourse Orbital station is offering a commuity goal to build a new exploration outpost.

Round 2 folks now yembo is finished we have another faction building a new outpost, all traders should immedatley head to lambda Andromedae system and sign up

Edit standing corrected .... The station wants exploration data ah well its a reasonable destination, there are also a few groups imperial federation and inedpdant on the groups forums who are seeking exploration data as well

my guess is they might be paying a certain % more than other stations for the delivery of exploration data. Whoever gets there first can we get a screenshot as to the actual structure of the goal

It's number of reports handed in that count, but it looks like it's either bugged or there's already cheating going on. The results jumped from ~100 reports to 31,000 reports in 15 minutes with just 22 contributors, and it's not possible to sell data to the UC that quickly.

Distance from Sol?
~85ly from Sol

As the rewards for EVERY community goal so far have been pathetic why would I participate in this one?

20% off ships and outfitting sounds bad to you?

Yep, just arrived myself and saw that. Agree that it suggests bugs or hacks, unless those 20 Cmdrs happened to be sitting on 1000's of unsold data each ;)

I really doubt that's cheating though - other CG saw similar stuff. I suspect this has been announced on several other servers already, and background sim just finished processing all handed in reports. Remember, it is not exactly instant.

31K reports in 15 minutes is really suspicious.

But whoever cheats in such an obvious place is not really very smart, won't take long until Frontier finds out the whos and hows.

6d 19h left, but it's going to finish today. It just jumped to tier 6 since my last post (over 100k reports but still only 25 CMDRs). It's bugged badly or someone's found an exploit with exploration data.

The top single commander submitted over 30k individual system scans, from 31k total. Suggests something out of the ordinary. It's now well over 100k total. At the current rate, the mission will be completed in a couple of hours.

EDit: Of course, as Starson says below, we shouldn't jump to conclusions - we're no strangers to bugs round these parts :)

Do not attribute to malice that what could be attributed to bugs. I saw the Furbaide community goal give me more tonnage than I turned in on a couple drop offs. Didn't make a ticket because they should be looking into it for the top 5 commanders anyways.

I'll head out and provide some exploration data. Been hoping today that there would be another goal since the last combat one completed.

BTW, are there any combat community goals going on right now?

Lot of people waited for exploration CG so maybe he held up his data for sale. But as I said, if you feel something's not right, ping FD - let them check (if they haven't already).

I had been exploring this afternoon and just downloaded about 30 reports worth about 150k when i noticed this on the noticeboard... So was a bit gutted but in a nice way. So dont assume because folks have handed in masses of reports that they are cheating.

And did my first scan before i remembered the 20ly rule, doh! Am pretty excited about this one and it should give me another level. I hope it goes the distance as its up to 6 already

I see that a couple of guys today have posted that they are back from long trips and handed in stacks of data

The top contributor might not be cheating, if each eligible planet counts as 1 report and if he just came back from a long trip if could literally have thousands of reports to sell.
Although it seems kinda sketchy to see to top player at over 100,000 and number 2 under 200

Well, galnet reported the single top cmdr had apparently submitted over 100,000 individual star systems. He must've been out there for a while :) The #2 spot has a more reasonable 100-ish stars.

(as above, shouldn't rule out bugs but the number itself seems a bit fishy).

I think it's individual star systems that are counted, not planets/bodies. I sold a few that i'd scanned on my way there.
