Land outside map boundary

I don't know how anybody else feels about this, but I would like to see a setting put into the SETTINGS menu of the game where land outside your park map boundary rise, falls or flattens in harmony with land INSIDE. I have been asking for this setting for the SETTINGS menu ever since the game first came out and they STILL haven't delivered ANY of the ideas I have come up with!

The land outside the boundaries is a solid piece, this has been said OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Well they should UNMAKE it a solid piece! All the maps are on a blooming slant and it's not right - they really haven't thought this game through properly!

Maybe they are not able to do it?
Maybe expanding gives more (performance) issues?

Have you thought about that or only yourself?

You can also avoid building to the edge of the map and than give it nicely smoothed transitions.

Is it really so hard?

For me it is, just because YOU'RE a really good theme park builder doesn't mean anybody else is!

Thanks for the compliment.

I don't think I can consider myself really good, but I'm not the one getting upset about a basic limitation that every game has that is called the edge of the map.

Rollercoaster Tycoon didn't have that limitation, when you raised, lowered or flattened the ground - the grooud OUTSIDE your park raised, flattened or lowered in harmony with land INSIDE your park!

RCT was still limited, you weren't really editing the park outside the boundaries.
And PC does have that limitation as it is voxel based, it cannot read how steep you want the slope to be outside the park boundaries.

You can still raise or lower terrain inside the park boundarie, why won't you do that?
Or is it just that you want the game to do it for you as you think it's to much work?

edit: to add, none of my ideas have been taken over too, so you are not the only one.

So you only edit the land inside, only then with a bit more margin from the edge.

Exactly. The park boundaries are really pretty big. Do you really need to build a theme park that big? Make the park just a bit smaller, and smooth the edges yourself. Not that big a deal. Or...

You already mentioned that you feel that you may not be the best park builder, so all the more reason to build small. Instead of thinking about building, just for instance, the entire Disney Florida complex, just focus on the Magic Kingdom, or just focus on Fantasyland and that's it. Make the best one you can, put it on workshop if you want, learn from your mistakes, then build a slightly larger park, etc. Eventually, you'll feel the confidence to fill up that map.

Finally, I think just about everyone has requested something from Frontier, and have not gotten their wishes either.

I think it has been mentioned before on a live stream, a lot of the distant land is just an image so cannot be edited. I think there is small section that 'could' have mouldable terrain, and I would agree it would be nice if we could smooth it etc like RCT, for just the initial part outside of the boundary.

Yep, they called the area outside of the make-editable space the skirt -- PlanetCoasterFan4Eva, you're not the only one who finds this frustrating! If it's impractical to let us edit the park skirts then it'd be great if they'd give us a few more, including a totally flat one. There's a topic here about it -- feel free to pile on if you want.

I thought you could edit the skirt to some extent in scenario? I could be wrong haven't touched it yet.

In the Scenario Editor you can make a park any rectangular area up to the maximum Boundry Size of Width 1000.0, Height 625.0, and Length 1000.0 (1 = 4 meters). Outside of the maixmum is the park skirt, which the devs have described as a single static 3D object, uneditable in the game.

Most parks are smaller than the biggest size possible -- if you load a Career, Challenge, or Sandbox game save into the Scenario Editor you can max out the park boundaries, so land that was previously outside of your park becomes editable. But that can't include the park skirt.
