Landable planet with volcanism

I have just catalogued a planet that has Silicate Magma volcanism, but shows the blue arc to show that it is landable. Has something changed/have I missed something/is this a bug? I thought we had to wait for a later release to land on planets with volcanism.

It's normal. You just won't see any volcanism. I encountered several like that.

EDIT: found 'em before the patch as well.

Damn. But imagine just how awsome it could be. Working your way around a lava flow in a customised SRV, getting trapped on an island in a sea of lave and calling in your ship just before your tyres start to melt. Would certainly put the dangerous back into exploration.

"back into" implies that it was previously dangerous. I must have missed that bit.

Landable worlds with volcanic activity would be a really nice feature. It would also be cool to land on water worlds and explore with a type boat/submarine. Not to mention earth-like planets of course, but I understand the nightmare it would be to design worlds in full detail and that don't have the feeling of being 100 miles wide and 1 inch deep.

Planets with life should remain off limits I think, No Man's Sky just proved that limits of human imagination (and the procedural generation) result in ridiculous "alien" worlds.
But I do hope that atmospheric landing with dynamic weather (even to gas giant's upper layers), water, volcanism will be part of future updates.

So would I if I was not over 1K LY away.

Bah! That's virtually next door. You can practically drop in to borrow sugar.

99% of lifeforms on Earth like worlds would probably be Vegetation and microorganisms.

Green landscapes, clouds and nice scenery alone would still be amazing.

DBOBE wants to go big game hunting. You can be sure that the portion of the player base that thinks it is fun to shoot smaller or unarmed ships for the LOLs will love to be able to wipe out all the dinosaurs on planet X. It will come. I don't see that it will make the game better, but I do see that their target audience (not me, once they got my money in the kickstarter) will probably think that it does.
