Landed Ship to SRV distance increase.

I don't know if there's a setting that I've missed but I'd really like 'as an explorer' to have an option to leave my ship where I parked it, at the moment it's about 2.14 from your SRV and it takes off, well if you've got one of those rocks that's tiny and pitted it can be a god-awful job to land and in many cases the AI pilot has difficulty landing again... even then the access for the SRV can be blocked by debris, if I had a choice I'd say... "SIT... stay, and wait here for daddy to come back"

Please FD can we have such a feature added to the SRV panel?

I care. And not only because of the quite valid reason you gave. I just don't like when my ship goes away on it's own, like "run away from the ship thief". I am hundreds or thousands Ly from any NPC in the vastness of the deep space. And I want my ship to wait for me where I left it.
And why not? Is there any technical reason for the current solution? Some game engine limitation? If not, I would remove this SRV-ship distance completely.

cheers,

Ah... it makes me feel better to know that at least someone else also thinks along these lines :)
hopefully with the incoming Explorers update/revamp this could be addressed perhaps along with the ability to set waypoint markers to enable us to find the spot on a planet we previously found interesting.

I agree with this. The reasons you gave are completely valid. Worst time I had it was on a high G world with rough terrain. The first time I recalled my ship it couldn't find a place to land and proceeded to hover 20m above the ground. I had to drive under it and block it to get it to leave. Luckily it could find a place to land the second time I recalled it.
