Landing an Anaconda

I NEVER enter the tation with landing gear down, use it to slow down at the last moment. Dont use the compass, I use the mark 1 eyeball and memory of where all the pads are. I glide in and dont use thrusters.

Same. Using lateral thrusters for landing is way too slow for my taste. On most pads, you can easily land using a glide slope like any other ship.

I only ever thrust in the conda if I messed up my positioning/approach in the first place.

IMHO having the Afterburner button assigned in a way that makes accidental activation unlikely or impossible is the best solution (valid for any ship) ;)

For trading, sure. For combat, not so much lol

I have a couple of vids on my YT Channel showing the varying success and failures with landing and flying an Anaconda. I have started a Trade Racing Wing, where myself and any pilots that wish to join me, leave at the same time and race to the destination as fast as possible for honour (and of course the Trade Dividends). It certainly makes trading a fun activity, but it does not come without some risks. Currently on Conda No. 3, with 20mil Cr down the hole, I wouldn't change it for the world. Great fun!

Except that if you tried to do that in an Anaconda you'd catch the legs on the entrance. NOT advisable.
Not to mention that dropping your gear seems to reduce your thruster output.

Great for dampening to allow for more controlled movements.
Not so good for breaking distances.

had respect for the conda, but i never seem to hit top or bottom of the slot. that thing fits :)

i dont consider myself a master docker, but the conda is not that hard do land. i stop boosting ~4km from station and throttle to 1/2 directly before the slot or when i come around the station edge close (when not approaching from the front).

(got got more problems taking off in an eagle, impatience+boost = bad decision)

i really really wanna hunt you down and blow your ship up.... cause you feel so self righteous and you know better than everyone else, i just want to help you come back down to earth.... or the empty vacuum of space.
