Landing at landing pad question

Hello,

Can someone please explain if there has been a change made in the process to land at a landing pad after the Guardians update?

I have got clearance, have entered the space station, have deployed landing gear (the image is taken after I could not land), have flown to the correct landing pad, have lowered my ship to the correct landing position and have touched the landing pad yet my ship will not dock. By this I mean that the station services will not display.

Yes this is buggy as hell. Not sure if a bug report has been submitted, but why don't you put one in anyway, the more FD here about it the better chance it will make an Upgrade roll out fix.

It only seems to happen for me in one of them fancy new Stations with the updated interiors, and funnily enough not all pads, as i got frustrated trying to land on one this morning, i cancelled landing went out came back in again after being given different pad and landed first time no issue!

Landing gear ?

I was going to make smart alec comment about you being sure that you've got the right pad - it looks like it could say "22" or "32" with all those annoying console lights behind the message -- but that's got me a few times too... so either way I reckon the should get rid of those lights so the message is clear!!

Re landing gear; it doesn't usually matter - you still get the target graphic + annoying messages telling you that you've not lowered the landing gear.

The picture really doesn't show much. On landing you need to have pitch pretty much leveled out now. Obsidian ant posted a video of himself trying to land, he was struggling for quite a bit, his pitch was nowhere near centered.

Since the update the pad lock on is less forgiving, you can't be sloppy with your docking anymore.

Yes i know the slackness has been tightened 777, with over 2000 hours in game and according to EDDiscovery over 7400+ landings, i think i know when someit is not quite right!

Sorry my bad thats 17,400 landings... Doh! (I presume some of those are planetary landings and don't have a Landing pad as such, but you still have to 'Lower Landing Gear' ;) )

So are you saying you can't land? I've flown the Beluga/Cutter/T9/Python since I've got back in the game. Am not seeing any issues landing.

I know you are an experienced CMDR, in the ops case there is no way to see what he is doing without a video. Btw, i am all for the devs reverting the pad lock on to the previous version, just saying Cmdrs need to focus on pitch when trying to lock the ship down.

Here's the vid I was telling you about - You could get away with being that sloppy in previous versions, it won't work in the new update.

While I agree that I think it needs adjusting again as I don't think the change was necessary (intended or not), 777 is correct. It's just far more fussy about your alignment now.

If you come in at your normal attitude as will have been ingrained after 7400+ landings, then switch to the debug cam (you have plenty of time) you may find you are not as parallel with the deck as you thought. In my case, I was a good 20+ degrees pitch down when it 'looked' right from the cockpit. Now I have my view looking far too high for what I'm used to but I can land much more reliably even though it is still harder than before.
The graphic looks wrong for a good landing now. In my cutter I have the tail buried in the deck on touchdown.

On the annoying jumps to the left (always left?) if you land heavily, I wonder if its momentarily forgetting the station-rotation-lock (or whatever its called) option? It's jumping the right way for this to make sense.

Overall, I do think its an unintended bug as there was nothing wrong with it before, but until its addressed, checkout your alignment by comparing the debug cam and cockpit views to get a feel for what straight and level looks like from the cockpit so you can land reliably as it is now with a little more care.

Guy's not going to get into a long drawn out discussion, Look i can land ok, but i am saying on SOME PADS (Not All Pads) at SOME STATIONS (The new Interior Stations), it is VERY HARD to land.

I don't really want to go down the 'you need to do this and that', with over 17,000 landings rest assured my ability to put any size ship onto the pad is not in question.

Not after an argument/Heated Discussion or even a discussion about who can do what and who can't i am just backing up the OP in saying i have noticed a couple of pads in the newer stations are not the same as the millions of others.

Fly Safe and Land Quickly Cmdrs,

Same here, you can waste several minutes until game decides that you did OK, or even be forced to re-log and try again...
Hopefully it gets patched in next update...

Honestly the picture itself to me looks like you aren't even on the pad so my first response would have been "there's your problem right there."

But yeah, It could be you aren't quite seeing the pad number in your HUD so you're at the wrong pad.

Otherwise I haven't noticed anything.
