One of this amusing moment where you lose your ship and are still amused about it.
So I am out with my Imperial Courier. A ship I chose for the fun and the challenge rather than the power as I can afford way better. I am bounty hunting an Elite NPC Anaconda that already killed me once (side note: did you know missiles can actually kill a Courier at 15% hull?). I find the guy and start fighting. I am not an amazing pilot and since AI update it is just hard for me to fight that type of target, especially in a Courier. This Anaconda is aggressive and things are not going well, but I might still be able to pull it off.
Well that's until he rams me and put me to 1% hull and broken canopy! I decide to boost away as much as I can. I am still being fired at and somehow manage to enter Super Cruise with my tiny 1% without receiving another shot! I am not saved yet but I escaped, the hardest part is done, just need to go to the closest star port.
I am dropping out of SC in a small outpost. "Docking request granted". I am saved, finally! Little did I know...
My hull is still 1%, with shield down. I approach the landing pad and start moving down to reach the pad. I hear a sound and expect the comforting "Docking successful, engines disengaged". Instead of that, I get a nice "bbboouuummmmmm" as my Courier is exploding right on the landing pad.
Bottom line: never land with no shields and 1% hull, or if you do be very careful. Apparently moving down to the landing pad too fast is enough take that 1% left you have
