Landing gear and boost

I know it's been said a thousand times before but now I'm gonna say it. Whoever decided putting landing gear and boost on the same button was a good idea, is a one watt. Just cost me 1.2 mil and I only had 2.2mil. Infuriating.

Was it at a station ? Put your landing gear down before you go in the slot, esp. if you've got a dodgy Xbox controller where buttons are temperamental.

Yo, I've hit the boost button before I landed, meant to put the land'n gear down, and I hit the back wall on a station (lmao)...didn't get fined, but still a crazy situation...but damn, 1.2mil, whew that's a lot.

I've done it in a T9 loaded with 500T of Imperial Slaves. I flipped it (in as far as you can actually flip a Type 9 Heavy) with flight assist off and hit max throttle. I was nestled amongst the ironwork but I didn't hit the back wall. Probably my proudest moment

I feel ya, did it once got bounced around the whole station multiple loitering violations, got real good at holding that B button down to make sure i set the landing gear before i do anything.

Perhaps your controller's B button is failing/defective?

You TAP the B button to Boost and you HOLD the B button down and hit DOWN D-Pad to operate the gear. Shouldn't ever have this problem really. I've never boosted by accident in this game. I know plenty have, but I will never understand why. The two actions are so different from each other.

Comes down to either a bad B button or the player not paying attention to what they are doing.

Actually I was outside the slot. Smuggling run where I couldn't get scanned so I had all modules, including shields, off. Approaching slot at speed, tried to put gear down to get me below 100 and somehow missed direction pad and busted my buns right it into the wall next to the slot.

LMAO, I've done this a couple times. One time my parking spot was right up front, so when I boosted I had the whole station to try to slow down. I softly boop'd the back wall of the station. And of course, the station was full of real players who likely saw the whole thing, lol. Felt like a idiot.

Line up 7.5 km *directly in front* of the slot, request docking and just full throttle/boost your way in. Don't go into Silent Running, don't turn anything off. The effect is minimal, you can still get scanned. I have never used Silent Running, never turned off any modules, and can honestly say I've never been scanned *IF* I simply do the above and go straight in, straight out. If you screw up the boost/landing and hit a wall, at least you have your shields that way. I've hit the back wall of a station faaaar more times than I've ever been scanned.
