Landing issues (FIXED)

I seem to be having trouble landing outside of the tutorial.
I follow the procedure request docking, lower gear and approach the correct docking bay but the target stays red.
Iv'e tried turning 360 degrees but no matter what way i face the target is lined up in the center but stays red.
I have no trouble in the tutorial and even managed to land a couple of times earlier to get my Eagle, but for the past few hours i seem to be unable to do it.
So confused!
Any help?

There are 2 rare but known bugs with landing that FD cannot find ATM. One is solved but rising up above the pad then retract and lowering your landing gear, if that doesn't work then leave the station and cancel your docking request then re-request docking.
