Landing pad dimensions

Does anyone have any idea, or even fact based knowledge, of the dimensions of the three available landing pads?

I was just thinking about it during a DC sequence coming down onto pad 3 on an outpost. Even at 4Km out the thing was really pretty large and I was trying to imagine seeing something that size in RL at 4Km/2miles out.

an internet search really only yielded hits to the Elite Wiki and even the Pad page only told what ships could land on which pad. I can imagine the gazillions of hits if I put "landing pad" in the forum search engine!

Ideas?

completely wild guess but. 200m 100m 50m

The Cutter is almost 200m long and doesn't leave much room in the front or the back on the L pad.

There's some charts and videos about that show the ship sizes, with that and guesstimating the largest ship that fits on a particular pad, you could work out the rough size...... or somebody may post who actually knows

Yeah if I could see straight down on to the pad it would be easy but we are limited by camera mode as to out vantage point.

A Python is roughly 88 meters long but how much pad is left on either end? Is it really 100 meters length for the med pad as CMDR UberDude suggested?
