Landing Pad Information ( Suggestions )

I don't know if this is the correct place to put a suggestion but if it isn't I do apologise.

I have a few suggestions, first one being this. Would it be possible to have the Size of the Landing Pads a Station has listed to the left with the rest of the information. Now I don't know if any outposts have L Landing Pads but I'm getting missions to go there so I'm assuming they might?

My second suggestion would be an Automated Refuelling Module, refuelling is a lot more dangerous than Docking so I thought this could be a good idea and would be great for long Journeys.

The Third Suggestion would be an in game radio or even a radio module? I know you have some classical music already in the game but listening to something whist piloting your ship is awesome. Maybe do like Saints Row 1 and tie the radio into the media player, That way you could let people also listen to their own music?

:p

If you're suggesting a way of refueling outside of stations 2 way's already exist.

1) fuel scoop from a star using a fuel scoop module

2) get fuel delivered to you by another ship using a fuel transfer limpet module

Otherwise I'm not sure what you mean by an automated refueling module.

As for outpost stations. No they have only 3 small pads and 1 medium pad. No large pads.

1st point= Large "full" station's have multiple Small Mediu, and Large pad's, while the small "shack" Outpost's only have Medium and Small.
.
2nd point= Unless exploring just buy fuel as it's dirt cheapm but if exploring you'll learn fast how to safely do it just don't get greedy is the main safety precation.
.
3rd point= Brought up before, many want it PC and Xbox but never responded to by FDev.
.
You should post any furthe syggestion's in the "Dangerous Suggestion" sub-forum. ;)

I like the radio idea. I'm sure Microsoft would have it tied to Xbox Music if they could (not a bad suggestion actually, as it's a great service), but yeah, I'd like to be able to choose music to play without snapping an app and losing full screen capability.

Outposts never have Large landing pads. Every other station type does.

Fuel scooping probably meets your refuelling requirements? Or Fuel Limpets? Or where do you envisage the ARM being?

Oh, there is a separate suggestion forum somewhere. Found it:

I mean for long Journeys, as in Exploring ( A trip to the centre of the galaxy ). 3 of us set out, only 2 of us made it there and back, the other had a fight with a sun and lost.

The Automated Refuelling System I'm talking about would take you down to the Star and refuel for you, safer for those who love exploring in this game but aren't too good at the refuelling part. If they can do it to make Docking easier for those who can't do it, then I don't see why they couldn't do this. After all if people love to explore but can't manage the refuel it kind of kills the game a bit for them. :)

And thankyou, my first suggestion isn't needed then. Unless they ever intend to have outpost with L pads haha. :p

"had a fight with the sun and lost" lol

Tbh, I don't know if you've ever used the docking computer. But it can be pretty derpy. Flying you into the side of the station at times. I don't use it myself but a friend of mine lost his python yesterday due to relying on the docking computer.

And if the ai is anything to go by in stations always getting blow up by the station for loitering, I'd rather not.

A fuel scoop computer would probably fly you into the sun.

Yeah I've tried the Docking Computer and it made me rage, not because of the AI but because I forgot I had it, tried to Dock normally and kept wondering why my ship kept trying to fly back off.

But on the AI flying you into the sun... You haven't met my friend... If ships could talk, his would be calling the nearest ship abuse hotline... >.<

Also, if you are flying a big ship I assume you are doing trading/cargo work and if you use the THRUDDS trading tool, there is a check box to filter out the small "OUTPOST" size stations that the big cargo ships like the T7 and T9 can't land on. Then you don't even have to worry about going to a station where you can't land.

But pretty much as Fox stated above... All these issues are overcome with features already in the game, or if you just face the fact that if you run a big ship, you can only dock at the large stations. There is only ONE type of station the large ships can't use, and they are clearly indicated on the System Map.

So... all kind of moot points I would say. :)
