Landing pad lights!

Is it intentional that the landing pads flash on and off?

Or is this a bug.

Seems a bit stupid waiting around in the dock for the landing pad to show.

I would ticket it as a bug as you have already noted that it doesn't make sense for that to occur.

if you are in the docking bay and the pad lights go out you can still land, you just need to use the compass to find the right pad.

I'm sure it's on the top priority list and that the DEVS will fix this as soon as they get back from the holidays.
I can imagine it's frustrating for new players... try this in the meantime.
Roll or flip yourself so that the pads aren't in your field of view. Most of the time once you roll back, the lights re-render long enough to see where to land.

I think it's the station staff being bored and playing games with incoming pilots just for the amusement factor. "Ok I think he spotted it, but only just - turn them off! That's it! Hahah yes, he's wandering around from pad to pad, brilliant! Hahaha! He can't remember which one he saw lit up!"

Oh, no, bug, definitely. One I have fallen foul of many a time, an irritating one to be sure!

I just had a hell of a job and a 400 credit fine due to not just this, but the scanner thing with the beeping didn't work either, even when I accidentally succeeded in landing in the right position, I had no indication of such.

Had that once too Nambo, though I didn't get a fine, so knew I was on the right pad, but no landing radar. Also irritating, actually had to log out and in again, leaving station and requesting again just had the same thing.

Seems to primarily affect interior pads. I run into it almost every time I dock inside a station, but haven't yet noticed it at outposts, etc.. where the pads are outside.

Agreed. Ive had a ticket in "New" for a while now... I suggest OP cuts them one to add weight to the reports
