I did a couple of screenshots when landing and made this for you guys.
When in a cobra or viper landing gets rather frustrating when they place you just above or below the entrance on the first pad.
This arrangement is when you coming in on the entrance with the red blinking lights on your left (or green on your right side).
Outter circles are closer to the entrance, inner circles ar the back of the station.

Nice, but you are aware your "compass" points to the landing dock you're suppost to go?
Obviously, this being Elite, that isn't explained anywhere but its *really* helpfull once you realise it.
Do note, you have to clear the millslot first for it to work.

this is fantastic.. while I personally have never had an issue with close landing pads (as i dont go through mailslots at 200km/hr) it will be helpful to reference when im on an approach in order to find my dock when the numbers arnt appearing

have some rep

Please note, they mixed the 13 and 1 pads which is really weird.

If you have to land on the 13 expect laser fire when you leave;)

It's backwards.

I wish they had the numbers painted. Would have been a lot easier to learn them.

Yeah, you’d think that given how unreliable the lights are (sometimes I enter a station and not one pad is lit up until I fly up and down inside the station a couple of times) that the landing crews in the station would get a bucket of paint out and paint the numbers on the pad just as a safety backup!

Stay in the black, and keep out of the red.

Nothing in this game for two in a bed.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

i know its good you have posted it but any player with any IQ or brains has go it sussed by now if not then your truly beyond help

If you keep the F6 key depressed when requesting docking, I find you are given the "secret" 50 pad entrance directly at the rear of the port area....

That docking bay numbering system is madness.

Is what he says, but yes, it's backwards (also upside down) as we drive on the left over here :)

No its not backwards and and not upside down. If you come in when the red lights are on your left (on the outter entrance grid) then they are good and 13 just below you. Check again.
