Newcomer / Intro landing pad

Hello fellow commanders.
Not sure if its a glitch/bug but when i land my clipper it docks jest below the top of the tower maybe little further down my gears never hit the pad little confused.

Welshspaceman out

Sorry wasnt clear running late to pick the rat pack up
but here goes all othe ships ive landed have always touched the landing pad bar this clipper it goes to services jest below the tower

The Type 7 also gives the "Docking successful" message when you're still considerably above the pad, as long as you're lined up and close to stationary. Not sure whether it's a peculiarity of certain ship types, or something specific to the large landing pad. Anyone know if all ships that use a large pad behave that way?

similar things happen on my sidey, cobra and hauler before...
I'd be a little impatient in docking, and cruise on in, flailing wildly like a butterfly. I'd land at an angle to the pad surface, sometimes a rather considerable angle. It would dock, and i couldn't enter hanger until the ground-crew levelled my ship out. I didn't take any damage, it just seemed to catch me in a cushion zone even though my approach was haphazard.

Maybe something similar, reverse grav hooks or something, or you've just got long slender legs on that little honey? ;)

Viper does the same thing.
You dont have to "force push" your ship to dock.

You can float close enough so it accepts it..

I've seen this on my clipper as well. If I'm more aggressive about landing I can smash my clipper into the landing pad before the dock registers. So if it's the metallic clang of a dramatic "You call THAT a landing?" that you're missing, you can still pull that off with a little practice.

All big ships (using the big pad) are "auto-grabbed" from much higher altitude than mid and small ones, if that's what you're asking.
Also the lining up needn't to be that precise.

Which is funny because they are much easier to fly as they are less jumpy. I'd love to be able to actually land my ships. (just saying)
