Landing pads on stations

As the game works today, when asking for permission to land, you are assigned a landing pad, apart from ship size of course, in a random pattern.

As i see it, the best landing pads are the ones farthest from the slot, both for landing and departing.

I would really like to see landing pads assigned not random, but taking in consideration the pilot's reputation with the governing faction.

The better the reputation, the farthest the landing pad from the slot.

Hmm, i like more the ones in the middle.
The farthest are, well... too far

So why not
Middle for Allies,
Middle -> Farther for Friendlies and Cordials
Middle -> Nearest for neutrals and below...

Or even better, leave them as they are, learn the position of the pads and cancel/request until you get a better pad?

Nice idea ;)

I think little rules like this could be applied to help make a place feel more like a home. I quite often like to sit on one of the back pads & just watch the traffic come & go, I can IFF more ships from the back pads too.

One could make the argument that since the ones in the back are easier to land on, that the higher ranked CMDRs should use the ones toward the front and allow the newbs to use the landing pads in the back of the station.

But I see what you're saying. We should be able to earn a premium landing pad of our choosing somehow. I wouldn't be against that.

I think it depends on the player style. If you are a pirate, the close ones would be great farther ones would give you a higher chance of being spotted.

Please note There random Ships or empty in Each landing pad if it occupied. Do we want to wait for one of the back landing pads to open?
