I think you have to search for them on the surface of planets. They are sometimes lying around in POIs.

Yesterday I had a mission offer to deliver landmines but I turned it down.
I suppose if that happens again, take the mission, abandon the mission and keep the landmines.[big grin]

I just used the Galaxy Map trade routes. Found them no problem, and it was more up-to-date than EDDB. Most any military ground settlement will have them (usually they have "Arsenal" in their title).
I did find however, that the availability can go from a good stock to zero and back quickly. The base I bought my first load from had plenty in stock. I came back an hour later for a second load and there were none. I quit for the night and the next day they had a large stock again. Must be a bustling business?

Just look out while driving for a pair of what look like rabbit ears sticking out of the dust and try not to roll a wheel over them!
Yesterday I found a planetary (Smith Bastion) that had over 15,000 land mines. Bought a couple and took them back to Nambikuara and got 2500 credits profit for them. (Each)
