Languages

I don't remember if in the beta there was a language option in the setup but the educational items, signs and speakers, as well as the guests talking was in I think German. Will there be an option to change the language of those items?
Thanks

Guests talking German? not in my game ;) I would have noticed for sure.
but I think there was no option to switch to other languages in the beta, I hope we can do that in full release, as I am always looknig for interesting ways to improve my englishskills

You could change languages in the beta by right clicking the game then properties in your Steam library.

The guests, speakers, etc., speak Planco, a fictional language, not German.

Planco? What's the purpose of that? So basically the guests talking and the educational speakers can't be translated. Not going to try to go to a dictionary word by word.

Changing language in the settings options of the game won't change the language on the educational items, signs and speakers, nor will it change the language that the guests speak. It will only change the language of tabs and other info in the UI. I posted a link above in regards to the spoken and written language of the cims within the game.

It’s also quite useful! Only one game version for players all over the world without the expense for additional voice recordings!
The really relevant information, such as the Zoopedia, will be translated.

Unfortunately the educational speakers can't be translated. I understand why you wouldn't want to go to a special dictionary for a fictional language. The purpose was to have the characters seem like they were thrilled or expressing feelings and to be 'fun' (subjectively).

The career mode voice-over by characters such as Bernie Goodwin and Nancy Jones is influenced by the language setting that you can set in the Steam preferences of the game. They speak several (but not all) languages, such as English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Chinese. The voice languages are listed on the Steam Store page of Planet Zoo.

Like previously said by others in this thread; the guests in Planet Zoo (and Planet Coaster) speak Planco. This is a custom language for all "Planet" games.

Yes, @Joël is absolutely correct, Planco is a language unique to the Planet franchise. It's the first thing Bernie says in the Career Mode, before he corrects himself and translates into your chosen language.

While certain things in the game will be influenced by the language you've set the game to, Planco will not change.

In terms of other languages in game:
148168

This is the list on Steam, and we have subtitles for all of the 17 languages too. Hope this helps!
