Try the stuck recovery from the main menu. Maybe it helps.

Huh, I wonder if an Imperial Courier could get inside with manual docking - I think it's the only ship in the game that can pass through the mail slot while perpendicular to it. So if you could align it with the center and just... not get smashed by a Type-9 as it's leaving or something...

My bad! I forgot they were only on megaships. But stations should ideally have them as well, even if they're not used often. I posted in the Suggestions forum to see if FDev will make them available.
That would come in handy to quickly com back to your carrier...
What usually works is to take off from the landing pad, exit to menu and log in again. It puts the ship ~10km outside the station.
Hmmm. Usually when I do that I end up back in the hangar. In fact I use that procedure when I forgot my limpets.
Odd. I get pushed outside. Do you still sit on the pad or are you flying inside the station?
But in that case, the stuck option is probably the more reliable way

that used to work however i believe FD updated that in a recentish patch as now you log in docked..
I don't honestly know. It usually goes like this: Press take off button - crap, crap, crap, I forgot hte limpets! - Qucik, press escape and relog.
My - admittedly, flaky - memory says it was always like this (putting you back in the hangar) since I started playing in 2019, then it changed for a while, then it changed back. I vividly remember being annoyed by this when the game started putting me outside the station.
