So lately I've been playing with a fixed Multicannon build on my gunship that specifically uses 1 large MC and 4 medium MCs modded with overcharge and incindiary, combined with 2 small scats, one with corrosive and one with drag munitions.
What I am noticing is that by the time I've expended all my medium MC ammo, I still have roughly 1500 rounds left in my large cannon, despite them all starting off with slightly more than 2000 rounds.
The thing about running fixed weaponry is that you don't want to continue spraying when your target makes a sudden maneuver. This results in a series of short bursts each time things line up well.
The problem I'm seeing is that the large cannon never fires. It spends all its time spooling up and down.
This isn't much of a problem when facing anaconda's slapped with drag rounds, but most combat isn't against such targets.
I can only conclude from this that for fixed systems, medium Multi-cannons are better than large. IMO, at least for fixed, these should get a spool buff.
