Ships Large Plasma Accelerators - Awesome in a Clipper

At first glance, it may sound like a dumb setup, but two large plasma accelerators is probably the most fun I've ever had in my Clipper. Pair them with a couple medium gimballed beams, and and it's the most Star Trek-y I've ever felt in Elite; beams lasers firing forever and a day and plasma blasting out of the engine nacelles.

To make it usable (and I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner), I simply put the Plasmas in their own fire group, one button for each nacelle mount. Lasers are in their own group. All it takes is a little bit of yaw, and you can machinegun out hot plasma death! So lovely...

Highly recommend trying it out if you've not. Looks (and works) awesome in a Courier too.

Interesting build and glad you're having fun.

I'm perfecting my use of the huge PA on the cutter. I can only imagine how much easier it is to line it up with a clipper.

How does your distributior and head handle the one two punch of the the PA's. I'm wondering if throwing a large cannon I place of the PA may also be fun, place whatever on the mediums you like.... Once shield go down...

Thats why my clipper is military forest green in lieu of a vorcha attack cruiser skin.

I find that this set up is one way to deal with the poor hardpoint placement, i run one large beam, one plasma two multis/missiles/torps though.

The distro handles it surprisingly well, even when alternating nacelles for rapid fire. After 4 shots or so I'll have to wait a bit to recharge, but I have to maneuver a bit by then anyway usually. There no majorly irritating "I want to shoot, but I can't" downtime, apart from reloading. Swap to the beams during reloads though, and you're golden.
