I've just watched this awesome videos by neon raven and thought the laser fire might be made to look a bit better from the distance.
Maybe a slight variance and texture to them. Some flickering or rapidly changing glow along the line. Like they excite tiny atoms in the vacuum that give it a more "grainy" look. And when the lasers move as a ship turns, it could leave a trail turning the line into a plane of faint afterglow. A bit like a laser show I guess
And when the laser stops the same afterglow of maybe 10% remains.
Maybe it would be cool if the lasers actually leave a negative afterglow on your retina, that moves with your view as you look away?
I've also seen that the lasers turrets from anacondas are always spot on when they turn. It might look better if the lasers from the turrets "sway" a tiny amount when the anaconda rotates.
ATM it's also hard to see if it's incoming or outgoing laser fire, maybe have a bit more intensity at the start of the laser fire?
What am I talking. Everybody knows that lasers should be invisible in space! Turn them off now!
