Last day of E3 and still no PS4 footage?

E3 ends today and still no new PS4 footage??
its 11 days away and they are so quiet? makes me nervous and I'm still hovering over the 'buy' button, but I need to know the PS4 version is going to be good and it's not going to be a total mess (like PS3 Skyrim!)

Please Frontier show us something new and I'll pre-order today!

I wouldn't worry to much if I were you. The footage shown during Pax looked good. I expect the ps4 version being at least as good as the xbox version. If things weren't fine, they wouldn't have planned a launch at the 27th, would they?

I agree with this sentiment.... and any tweaks that are needed will be performed over the opening week I would expect.

I don't understand why you are so worried. They confirmed it launches June 27th, they gave a few screenshots, made little FAQ... Even if they said the game is perfectly optimized, you would be still worried. Just relax, and spend those 11 days playing something another

As much as this is a reasonable opinion, the OP is not wrong. We've only seen training missions (and even those crashed after a bit of gameplay), so a longer demonstration of the game would certainly ease up people's anxieties. Not to mention the PS4 Pro topic: the game is supposed to be enhanced beyond the base PS4 (or Xbox) version, but how?

The only complaint i have, judging from the PAX East stream, it's the huge amount of screen tearing the PS4 version has.
Then again, the stream quality at the time wasn't the best, due to the PAX East internet issues with the bandwith and whatnot, so screen tearing may come from the video and not from the actual game build.

Anyway, if it was indeed from the game, i hope FDev have sorted the screen tearing issues by now, cause it looks horrible on screen. :x
We'll see how the latest build looks, next thursday. ;)

Check out GameSpots old PAX footage, which looks like a direct video rather than a stream. I am at work at the mo so can't scrutinise it.

Thank you for the direct feed footage, stormyuk. I appreciate it.
Unfortunately, it's still very noticeable on the Gamespot footage. When the ship pitchs or rolls quickly, you can see the image tearing. [sad]
Here's a printscreen i took:

It's something that happens in a fraction of miliseconds, but it's constantly happening, which ends up plaguing the gameplay experience.

Let's hope FDev have sorted that out by now, with some type of V-Sync solution.

When is there ever a game perfect on launch?

There will be patches within a couple of weeks of launch if there are any problems.

Can't be any worse than Andromeda.... surely not ;)

I never even noticed.

Some people have a more sharp and trained eye than others.
Screen tearing is something that always ruins my gameplay experience, mainly if it's a racing game or a fast action game.
On the other hand, most of my friends don't seem to be bothered by it and some don't even notice it.

Here's some more printscreens i took from the direct feed video from Gamespot, showing the screen tearing:

Like i said before, the screen tearing is very noticeable and easy to pinpoint during the video.
It must have to do with the image refresh rate and implementing a V-Sync solution can be pretty taxing on a somewhat limited resources console, as the PS4.
That's why it's something difficult to implement now or via patch at a later date, if they have already squeezed all the available PS4 resources with the game port.
Let's hope for the best, tough! ;)

Me too.

If that is going to make the game "literally unplayable for you" then bye!

I never said it makes games "literally unplayable", because i have no other choice than play them like that on console.
But yes, it somehow ruins my gameplay experience.

"...then bye!" Hahah! You must be great at partys, mate! [haha]

NP.

I never even noticed.

Luckily I can't even notice it either, so I guess being blind to it is a good thing! :)

Edit: After looking at you exact pin point positions Astro, I can see it actually but I don't think its that bad in the flow of things but it is noticable, as a screeny yeh it looks terrible but I maybe its probably a trade off with PS4 performance. It will be interesting to see the game in action and if they have implemented any v-sync at all. Its maybe a question for the livestream. It will also be interesting how the Pro handles it.

Maybe a question can be added to the livestream questions, as its a fair point tbh.

seriously i can't believe with a week to go, and we already have our first complaint about the game. Astropalma why don't you reserve judgement until after you have played, the pax demo was a very early build of ED and i am sure they have solved the problems ready for 27th
