Last Few Animals I think we are missing

I have been playing a lot of planet zoo, and somehow I have been noticing it feels like the animal roster is really starting to get full especially with 8 new NA animals I assume we are probably only going to get maybe 3 or so more packs so I wanted to cover what I think we are really missing

Bird Pack (Introduces streamlined aviary building and birds that can fly through them)
Harpy Eagle
Southern Ground Hornbill
Red-Crowned Crane
Hyacinth Macaw
Burrowing Owl (Exhibit Animal) -realized they would be perfect as I have seen them in similar sized exhibits, and they don't move that much

Endangered Species Animal Pack
Scimitar Horned Oryx
Perwalski's Wild Horse
Amur Leopard
Coquerl's Sifaka
Tasmanian Devil
California Condor
Hawksbill Sea Turtle
Lorde Howe Stick Insect (Exhibit Animal)

European/Eurasian Animal Pack
Alpine Ibex
Saiga Antelope
European Badger
Great Bustard
Walrus
Iberian Lynx
Whooper Swan
Olm (Exhibit Animal)

Honestly, good list, but i would elevate the burrowing owl to an habitat animal (no exhibits for birds, if it fits it should be habitat imo) and swap the whooper swan for the much more common and large mute swan, aswell as the saiga for a deer and the seaturle for anything else, because one aquatic animal alone that isnt the manatee or dolphin isnt that great imo. Other then that, awesome selection

I hope for more packs coming. At least 5 further packs would bei good. More are always welcome 😀. You mentioned some good missing animals. But there are also some other animals which I think are essential:
Capybara as the most popular species within the Forum
More oceania animals (platypus, wombat, small kangaroo, kiwi, emu)
More South American animals: sloth, the mentioned capybara, spectacled bear)
Smaller cats (either caracal, Serval, ocelot, personally I could go with all)
Desert animals: Baboon, dromedary
Some more primates (Gibbon,...)
Another deer species (I would choose the red deer)

Personally I would also like to have:
Red River hog, Dik Dik, Armadillo, Porcupine (perhaps all not essential but unique looking animals which would enrich the game in my opinion)

You might want to post your list of your 20 most wanted habitat animals in the meta-wishlist, maybe?
Link: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/new-20-essential-habitat-animals-meta-wishlist.582340/

Looking at the meta-wishlist, I think we can split the required animals like this:

Animals which require new mechanics:
  • Aviaries (and all flying birds and bats)
  • Aquariums (and all fully aquatic animals)
  • Branchiation (for primates and other arboreal animals)
Niches which are yet to be touched:
  • Europe
  • Desert biome
Animals from niches already filled by base game/dlc:
  • Capybara
  • Wild horses
  • Emu
  • ...

I believe aviaries, europe, and deserts may be covered by future dlcs, but anything else is up in the air in my opinion.

For generalities:

Capybara.

A second otter (we got a second penniped, a second penguin, I bet we get a second otter)

A small cat.

European animals - that can include either an otter or small cat in the lynx. Alpine Ibex for sure.

Leopard (either Asian species of African leopard)

Another mustelid, another equine and another marsupial to give some diversity there (the otter could cover the mustelid)

And that's truthfully about it.

Arguments could be made for non generalities like the Emu, Gibbon, Maned Wolf, but honestly the only specific non European animal I'd say is the capybara. It's too popular and obviously missing to ignore.

Whaaat? No, no, no do not listen to these people Frontier, we still need too many animals! :p

My heart always dies a little when I see people mentioning that we need a leopard and then we are good while competely ignoring animals like sloths, gibbons, badgers, capybaras, porcupines, emus, tasmanian devils, wombats, chameleons, secretary birds, more monkeys and dozens of more unique animals that I feel we still need. :(

Oceania requires at least an emu and a wallaby to make realistic oceania areas, and I'd argue baboons and dromedaries are apso necessary.

I've given up hope on a sloth to be honest. I mean it's still in my list, I just don't expect it at all.

You forgot Gibbons! :p
So did Frontier. Seeing the gorilla-like orangutan in the game, and the fact they were not in the pack that required them most, I think they just can't/don't want to do branchiation. In all honesty, I doubt we'll see the more complex types of arboreal animals (gibbons, spider monkeys...).

There are truthfully only a few mammals I care about getting at all:

Capybara
Crested porcupine
Hamadryas baboon
One more New World monkey
One or two more Old World monkeys
Lar gibbon
Takin
Leopard
One or two small cats (lynx, caracal, Pallas's, and/or ocelot)

Otherwise? Birds. I literally just care about birds--there are currently more felines alone than birds total in PZ. Even if aviaries don't work out we need storks, cranes, the secretarybird, and gamefowl like guineafowl and the golden pheasant. Most zoos have as many birds as mammals, if not more; I can't think of any zoos (excluding maybe safari parks and non-public reserves/sanctuaries) as mammal-heavy as PZ's current roster.

Frontier, we want saolas, white storks, common cranes, grey herons, praying mantis (exhibit), manuls, european badgers, red foxes, red deer, servals and amur leopards in this game,

You may want them, but aside from the leopard, none of these animals rank anywhere high on the wishlist.

Plus half of these quite niche, so are not likely to be prioritized for the remaininf dlcs.
