Hi Guys, I guess you all got the email for " Last Orders ".

The most important item this month is the news that on Friday December 6th the existing online Backers App will be frozen, as we are transitioning to a new ‘retail store’ framework that will eventually become the online portal through which you download the game

I have managed to upgrade my reward to Beta today with advanced Birthday gifts, Wednesday is my Birthday so I consider myself very lucky to have managed this before the bell ring's. I wish I could have managed Alpha but that's ok I'm fine with Beta. Good Luck Alpha people with the testing and I'll see you in Beta.:cool:

Anyway, after this last Newsletter I tried to convince wife that I had to GIVE MOAR.

Strangely she simply lifted the eyebrows and with a knowing smile she patted me on the head.

"Go to bed sweety."

By the way, since we have a newborn (the second child, a boy) and I snore I sleep alone in the future kids room.
So... no double entendre.

I'm debating whether to upgrade to naming a star system. And not really much time to make up my mind, unless this type of thing will be available after the transfer to the shop.

It would be wiser to simply change your name to that of your favourite star system :p

That will not only save you money, but knight you as the most righteous fan. Sanity serves no purpose in this realm.

it's the last item on newsletter 14 released yesterday, here is the full text of that section:

Backers App Closing and a Store is Born
The online Backers App that has served us well this year will be retired on 6th December. A new store will take its place on 9th December, as we transition to preparation for the eventual ‘retail’ release of the game.
All your details from the Backers App will be transferred automatically to the new store, and you will need to use the new store instead of the Backers App.

To start with, only the following will be available in the store:

Alpha demo access
1st Round Beta access – pre-order
2nd Round Beta access – pre-order
Elite: Dangerous game (digital copy) – pre-order
Each Alpha/Beta access will also allow access to later tests and the full game when released.

PLEASE NOTE These products will NOT be the same as the Backer reward tiers, which include other features such as starting credits, decals etc.

The online Backers App will be ‘frozen’ after Friday December 6th, so if you are planning to upgrade your rewards please do so before then!

i have access to all areas , just i never recived an email. have to hazard that FD have all been role-playing headless chickens (what with alpha and all) and as such whoever updates the email list (odd if it is manuely done tho , would have thought someone at FD could write a script to automate something like that :p ) hasnt had time this month

Hi Guys, Cheers for all the Birthday messages above ! :)

Not sure why some have not received there emails, as AndyB(EDB50) has said, news letter 14 has all the detail concerning the new store to open etc, be good to see how this all looks.

At the moment I do not have access to the private backer’s discussion forum, I'm guessing it will take a little time for my forum user name to be approved, can't wait to get into this to read all the going's on.

Once again, good luck Alpha team, looking forward to reading your updates on how ED is taking shape.

I´m fine with waiting for March 2014 for the release version, as stated for estimated delivery on Kickstarter.
Sorry but 200 Pounds for being an alpha tester? Sure, if they pay ME for it.

I wouldn't bank on a release version in March 2014 my friend, I just posted this elsewhere. They will not release until ED is really ready.

As David explained in the last Dev Diary video, new alpha test builds will be released periodically adding new features and content until the alpha process is complete and we’re ready to move into Beta. Our goal is to make this right and we will take what time is needed in each phase to get it right.

I bank on reliable info regarding my kickstarter pledge which said estimated delivery March. So plus minus two weeks then. Or make the beta open for everyone in March for order fulfillment.
