Lat/Long Lines on HUD

Hi FD,

Please enhance the HUD with Lat/Long lines on planet surfaces (with toggle for on/off).

It would make navigating easier along the lines, once we maneuver into position.

Nice to have, time-saving QoL feature.

I tried to find Barnacles without resorting to Googling for Lat/Long coords but wasn't willing to spend 200 hours flying over Merope at 2km height or less. I really don't see how players have found anything like Barnacles in the game except by chance. Finding them was hard enough once I got the lat/long coords, because it takes time to orient to the direction you need to travel and practice to drop out of SC near the target coords to spend the least time wasting time flying in circles.

FD has to provide tools and mechanics to make finding things and bookmarking them easier.

I don't know where latitude and longitude fit in with whatever plans you are making for the post 2.4 core gameplay and QoL improvements, but this could be a nice addition.

+1

Suggested it myself a few months back.

A scaling grid overlay, with labels, that adjusts it's resolution as you approach the planet.
Can be toggled off and on of course, same as HUD lines.
Probably wouldn't work after you drop out of glide though, you'd be too low.

My preference would be to have planetary bookmarks. I'd like to be able to enter coordinates and have them show up in-game and in-map, just like planetary stations. I'd also like to place a planetary marker at my current position, while on a planet. I'd like to be able to share them via email, web posts, and in-game comms, using a text-based token. A player should be able to paste-and-go, like a web browser address.

That would be great. Being able to enter a set of coordinates and go straight there would be so much better than the clumsy method we have now.

Sharing bookmarks between players would be awesome.
