Launcher not opening game

12 hours ag I was playing ED just fine, now when I try and open the game the Launcher opens but the game doesn't when I click play. I'm playing the odyssey game mode and I've also tried Horizons too but still nothing. I've tried disabling my firewall and tried validating files, the latter doesn't do anything, just sits at 0%
Some help would really be appreciated.

Me too; I tried to lanch the game directly from the EliteDangerous64.exe and the game starts fine (but of course it tells to use the launcher for logging into my account, so I cannot play that way). About two hours ago everything worked just fine.

Me too, yesterday had a session with a ctd.
Wanted to play again this evening but wouldnt start.
Am now verifying the game files, but I dont think that will help reading this.
Hope the hamsters are not on strike this weekend ….

Same here. I thought it was my own PC so i did a verification of files on steam, and no change. Hopefully this is fixed soon.

Same here. Must be the Spark's Jimi Hendrix stuff I installed today, and now it apparently threatens to 'kiss the sky'? Hm. But not on that machine, on my tablet in fact

Everything was working normally until last night. Since this afternoon, I haven't been able to start the game in any way. I log in with Steam, and when I press "play" on the launcher, nothing happens.

I had same problem (on both Linux and Windows), but found solution:

Install "rfvgyhn/min-ed-launcher: Minimal Elite Dangerous Launcher". This launcher works and I managed to start the game (on both Linux and Windows).

Same issue here. I’ve got a long weekend ahead, bigos prepared, snacks lined up, even the kompot is chilled — but Elite refuses to cooperate.

Having the same issue. I was able to login/play this afternoon around 3:30pm until 4:30pm but just get returned to the launcher when clicking on play
