launching when not on surface

I assumed that if I hit 'launch', it would take me to the surface and then allow me to launch, but it doesn't.

so now I am launched but underneath and inside the hangar and don't know what to do.

Quit and exit see if that takes you out and send a ticket please.

It is supposed to work like that. Sounds like you found a bug. Please file a ticket.

I personally don't see the requirement for that option. The launch request should be a comm request in the same way as the docking request is and only available when surfaced.
