Lava lamps would be gourgeous. As for RL (and a possible cockpit build ...) I acquired a decent collection at flea markets, see below. Love the Rocket-style lamp to the left. And they are great for close-up filming as well ...
Oh and the cockpit cat definitely has to crush a lamp if you get it upset (in-game only, please). Totally agree, @Arioch .

Can we get the captains room redecorated completely before we add more stuff??

The view out of the window is horrible. I can live with the Ikea furniture... It is not acceptable that the best view to the deck is the first officers seat

Another immursion breaking issue is the fact that NPCs stop landing on your FC when you are on-foot in the FC. The ones you see in my pictures will take off and no new NPCs will arrive.

That's because the NPC's are ship instanced, so when you leave your ship that instance closes and the on foot instance takes over where you might instance with other players in the fleet carrier interior. If they kept both instances running you might not be able to instance with any on foot CMDRS if there were a lot of in ship CMDRS hanging around. Not sure how they will get around that one.

Not sure that is the case... Or you or me understand the issue.

If you are parked at a station you will see the same ships landing as a fellow CMDR. NPC ships stop appearing after going on-foot. They will still leave (watching from the bridge) if you watched them landing on your FC from your ship. Which tells me it is the same instance.

I've noticed the same thing happens in station concourses too. Whenever I disembark after landing at a station, I have to rush to the concourse window immediately if I want a chance to catch the last NPCs leaving, and then nothing.

It's even worse if you log in on-foot to a concourse. Not one ship, even if I sit there for a good 20 minutes (yes, I do that sometimes, it's nice to just chill and enjoy the bar ambience once in a while).

And they made such a huge deal about being able to watch ships dock and undock from the bar, but it's virtually non-existent.

Yes indeed you do misunderstand. Once you go on foot the new instance is the on foot instance so that you can instance with other CMDRS, ship NPC's stop appearing and once the ship NPC already in your instance have departed no new ones appear. It's the same when you jump into a system, there will be no NPC's to start with until they start appearing in the system instance, once you transition to the station instance you start seeing the station NPC's and the system NPC's no longer spawn, you can see this when you jump away from the station, for a few seconds there will be no system NPC's because they need to be re-spawned. So when you go on foot NPC's are spawned according to the instance, not the space instance.

This is your lava lamp reminder.
