Newcomer / Intro Lave Comms - making Lave and surrounding systems a safer place.

Seemed to me he was offering to help you out. I honestly don't get possessiveness of TS servers, I've seen this come up a few times with different people. What's the advantage to HOSTING a ts-server?

PS. That wasn't sarcasm, I honestly don't get it.

I guess its what you have been brought up with in the gaming community and how you play your game. We use TS as a group to help achieve certain tasks like hunting pirates.
Having direct comms helps in many other area's and its also quite sociable.
Most of us who know and love TS come from competing in clan combat such as Return to castle wolfenstein, ET, COD etc, where good comms in important and a tactical advantage.

For ED its a sociable thing, great for Q&A, and tactically fantastic. We often set up ambush's, cover whole systems (with one scanning near nav points and relaying information around) and generally chase pirates out of the system we are in (well if we can :) ).

I hope that answers your question

Oh I get why it's useful, I just don't get why people are possessive of their own TS servers and want them to succeed. Seen it a few times. And having actually hosted a TS server I was relieved when I was able to retire it, monthly cost and all that.

I'm in no way possessive, I just don't like thread hijackers, I find it bad taste someone jumping in on a thread and pretty much stating "mine is better than yours" and advertising it.
We set up the TS server for our own use and to help others, nothing more to it - I do not care if its busy or if its idle Just letting folk know what we are doing and if they feel like joining in the they are very much welcome.

Ah, though you were rude to the guy who literally wrote the book on Lave. Which I imagine is why the thread caught his attention and he offered to join forces with you.

When in Lave I listen to "Lave Pirate radio" on TS, it has some great music interspersed with all the latest comings and goings of the local traders.
Very informative!

*shrugs* I was suggesting you link up with us, we promote TS servers on the podcast and always support community things, but if you want to see it that way, enjoy your thread.

It did come across as dismissive and overbearing, "go away, peasant, all your Lave are belong to us" as it were. I am not surprised that you saw that reaction. If that truly wasn't your intention, then maybe work on being a little clearer next time.

Nice initiative OP. Nice to see PvPers doing something constructive.

Thanks Loki, Its going well, we also usually have presence in Altair, 39 Tauri and other local rares systems. Great fun chasing down pirates as well as escorting traders.

Ancipital, glad someone else read that as I did - I had to ask a few friends if I had the wrong end of the stick but rereading it, it does seem Like he owns Lave, friends agree...

Quick update - Altair is getting heavy with pirate (mostly CMDR murderers...) so we are concentrating in this system for a few days.

Nice to see new CMDR's join in last night, amongst other things, we formed a wing of Eagles that did some major damage to many CMDR pirates plans.

Lave has become the place to be it seems, I went there yesterday for the first time because I heard a lot about Lave and I wanted to see it for myself. There are many players to be found and that's great because some of them must have a bounty on their head and I'm going to claim it (I hope).

Lave has always been popular - its a fun system but many of the pirates don't like the special attention we are giving them so some have moved on to fresh grounds. Try Altair, Fujin, 39 Tauri George pantis (SP) and Epsilon Indi. All of those mentioned are rare systems and are quite close to each other - perfect for patrolling for pirate hunters!

Do feel free to drop in on TS as say hi, good luck grabbing those bounties :)

Allright I'll check it out' thanks for the tip. I'll drop by in the TS sometime and filter out the bounty hunter chatter.

It's nice to see people take the game serious because the TS is a nice feature to immerse yourself in the game.

With regards immersion it will will be much better when wings is released.
Already we are prepping for this - playing in groups of 3 to 4, hunting together. We are planning to create wings with a stacked ship pattern, 2x eagles or Vipers, 1x Asp or Python and one hauler or similar as a stooge to entice in the prey. Ambush is the key :)

Can't wait to see a protection/hunter wing in each rare system - all communicating with TS, will be awesome and as most pirates/murderers work alone they will be devastated.

That sounds awesome. Normally I'm a lone wolf, because which bounty hunter isn't a lone wolf? I don't share credits for a kill ; )But protection escorts etc. sound really nice. In the future no one will choose the pirate/murderer path anymore because of their imminent destruction.
Keep up the nice work Easy Target.

Same with me, originally I liked to hunt alone but now with good comms hunting in a pack is awesome, we take turns finishing off the last % so we all get a share over the course of a session, not sure wings will help but getting credits is just a bonus, happy to hunt for nothing.

Thanks :)
