The Pilot Show

The Conclave is a new show from lave Radio which invites the Elite Community to actively take part in the Elite dangerous discussion.

Each episode Fozza and John sit down and host a discussion
around some of the hot topics regarding the Elite Universe and the current development cycle of Elite Dangerous

This week we talk about player age demographics and what Elite dangerous's "Killer Feature" will be.
Joining Fozza and John are Drew Wagar, Ian Phillips, Dave Hughes, Grant Woolcott, and Shaun Gibson

Go easy on this show as its a pilot attempt, It will get slicker the more we do..

All Feedback gratefully recieved on here and on iTunes.

Big Thank you to the first volenteers for giving up their time and opinions.

Twas fun.... also... it doesn't seem to be appearing on itunes yet..

I shall be patient..

Thanks for the hard work putting this all together...

Yeah it sometimes takes a while to filter into iTunes.

(Or I have cocked up the feed in which case Stabler will kill me !)

Congratulations Fozza, I know how much effort went into getting this thing ready. Take a break before the next one, and I will try and alter my antipodean time so I can actually show up on time next time.

Great podcast again. I look forward to lave radio productions of all kinds, I personally think getting younger people to play the game will be no problem but in all seriousness I don't see them being the 1st people to get on board after release there is a huge market for 20+ year olds, ok some of them won't have played the original games, and older people may not play 18 hours a day but Its a global gaming community these days. There will be people all over the world playing this game at some point. Word of mouth is a powerful tool and if DB makes the game HE wants (remember the 1st Elite was the game he wanted too) then we are on to something big. I think PvP action will be a big seller for the younger generation although if you get enough alliances and make missions catered around that suddenly you have an aspect which is already proven in many MMO's online although E: D isnt being designed that way I know for a fact if I get involved in some HUGE space battle for a system for whatever reason and some of my friends are watching (and i know this from the video on YT that was posted) that would get them really interested in this sort of game. Sandbox games are you build your own sandcastle as long as the missions are interesting, the graphics and gameplay (which look superb) are all in sync and there is a community then once this game is launched I can see no problem with it suddenly becoming one of THE games to play. I just hope that there is some money left for marketing of some description, maybe small demo versions released ect ect. But for me what makes this game unique from other games is the fact that it is huge, it is multiplayer now, and its being made by people who really care about what this game ends up being......... :)

That Shaun guy is kinda sexy... tbh that's the first time in a while I've heard my voice, not as bad as I thought. It was a lot of fun and I encourage other people to take part in future conclaves.

That was a great ep. Good to hear a wider variety of accents than the regular show ;)

I think people are too caught up on the old vs young thing. There are many older people that play games a lot (the average World of Warcraft player is in his 30s) and there are plenty of teens who aren't just interested in shootery action games. Elite: Dangerous will find its crowd of support and I'm sure it will be varied.

It's a niche game that'll appeal to all ages who like that niche I think :)

My wife just listened to all of this despite not speaking English... Great job on the editing making us all sound reasonably intelligent.

im still waiting for Fozza to send me the details to join,

You and a few others ;)

Sorry for that. Email coming out soon.

But in the meanwhile if anybody that would like to take part in the Conclave could add fozza101 to their Skype contacts that would be great.

Next recording should be this week for the next release in a couple of weeks time.

Cheers

Cheers Ian

I'm petitioning the government to ban the use of Urmmmmm in general parlance!

To be honest it's a Stabler campaign , but one that I am now firmly in support of! (John and I are also the biggest "erm"ers on the cast. )
