As requested...;)

Once more, the galaxy's finest commanders will converge on Sedgebrook station to partake of social, exploration, combat and trade negotiations (Star Wars crawl, see what I did there)[/B]! This time, there will be no betrothal parties (boo! yay!) Only spacefarers gathering to share their stories of life on the Frontier, the core worlds, and fixing vending machines...;)

This great gathering shall happen on the 16-17th of July. All booking details and information can be found here - http://laveradio.com/lavecon-2016/

Things to announce:

1. Two rooms of Artemis.
2. Earn Elite Ranks from activities throughout the weekend in a quest to become Triple Elite.
3. Planetary landing kart racing.
4. More new games to playtest.
5. More readings.
6. More panels.
7. More! More! More!

(Breathe... ahem...)

Please feel free to discuss...;)

I've not attended, but I think it's really cool that this is still going, and growing even? Kudos Laveons! :)

Is the main focus a lan party? What else is going on? Are the hotel rooms for 2 nights or just 1? I'm very interested in coming with my son but we'd want to drive down on the Friday to get a fresh start Sat morn.

Thanks,

Lee

ooOOOO! Team versus Team?

Quite possibly, we're investigating this. ;)

The event is Saturday and Sunday. People do arrive on the Friday and its a nice social night. Organisers are setting up, but should have time to get to the bar for a drink.

You can find all the ticket details and up to date information on what's going on here - http://laveradio.com/lavecon-2016/

In the booking options, you can book a room for the Friday as well. We have exclusive use of the hotel for the weekend, so if you enquire with them, they'll just direct you back to us.

Hi Allen

I'm hoping to run a VR shipyard in the LAN room again this year (Oculus CV1 delivery & SDK support in ED permitting). My intention is to have as many ships as possible (probably all) so that commanders can try VR and see what their favourite ship looks like and take a peek at the ships they'd like to own.

My personal hope is mutli-crew will be released by then (no pressure FDev) and that a few others in the LAN room have VR (DK2, Vive, CV1) and that we can make a four player VR crew setup.

Will the LAN room be more central this year?

I've booked my tickets already (Friday / Saturday / Sunday).

Looking forward to the event. I Tweeted SJ Avory and she looks to be coming too. Any other Frontier official or non-official confirmations yet? Zac? Ed? You guys going to make it?

Will there be a ED developer Q&A session like in previous years?

We hope so, we will confirm Frontier's arrangements when we've discussed them. That said, they are always awesome in supporting us.

The LAN room is positioned where it is owing to the bandwidth and power requirements. However, we are structuring the activities a little differently so the LAN will not be so isolated and some of the activities which took place out of the room are going back in their this year.

As mentioned above regarding Frontier. The conversation will happen shortly I expect, just been a busy few weeks for me.

Drop us an email - info@laveradio.com about your Occulus plans. We have some thoughts of our own and it would be great to pool ideas.

Quick question re: the LAN room (and I'm sure this is really dumb but I gotta ask) ...

Do I need a LAN ticket (currently just have a gold weekend) to go into the LAN room (e.g. to try out the Oculus and/or Vive and to take part in kart racing, etc) or do I only need a LAN ticket if I'm bringing my own kit?

P.S. I also have a query re: beermats which I've sent to info@laveradio.com

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, bit if it's like previous years, then it's free to try other peoples' kit, with a LAN ticket needed to bring your own.

Hotel booked :) will sort tickets soon.

Question on the LAN room... I was contemplating bringing the "driving seat" along again (it was on the EDTracker stand last year, for people who saw it) as a bit of something different... but I appreciate it takes up space and isn't very considerate in that regards. However I'd be willing to share it and let people have a blast on it. Would that be OK? We can stick it in a corner again somewhere, I'll stay out of the way :)

Tut tut Alan :p

Normally I would ignore a petty spelling mistake like this, but what with you being an professional author and university lecturer, I simply cannot let this stand unchallenged :D

I wonder, do I have vacation time planned at this time of the year ? Will I find a place to sleep nearby ? And last but not least, will there be Instancing and Snickers ?

The venue is somewhat in the middle of the countryside, not in Northampton itself (about 15-20 minutes drive). Accomodation at the venue is included with Gold/Platinum tickets, but these have sold out (already!)

Last year there was a list of alternate places to stay nearby, but I can't find it on the laveradio website

They're saying to e-mail info@laveradio to get information about overflow hotels.

Apologies for the delay in replying on this.

We're currently enquiring with Sunley Conference Centre and Brampton Grange, which are the nearest two hotels to see if we can arrange a booking for the weekend.

We'll also be contacting two hotels near Northampton Train Station.

Updates should be posted on the website, this thread, Facebook and the rest sometime later this weekend.
